This reality must be brought to the public mind that for all of us being told we are going to be in World War, the reality is, that the United States can not be in war, any war any conflict, unless Congress authorized this.
There are two principles, one Constitutional in stating that Congress has the sole power to declare war and the War Powers Act which limits the adventures any president can send Americans into any conflict.
For the United States, Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution says "Congress shall have power to ... declare War." However, that passage provides no specific format for what form legislation must have in order to be considered a "declaration of war" nor does the Constitution itself use this term. In the courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, in Doe v. Bush, said: "[T]he text of the October Resolution itself spells out justifications for a war and frames itself as an 'authorization' of such a war." in effect saying an authorization suffices for declaration and what some may view as a formal congressional "Declaration of War" was not required by the Constitution.
In 1973, following the withdrawal of most American troops from the Vietnam War, a debate emerged about the extent of presidential power in deploying troops without a declaration of war. A compromise in the debate was reached with the War Powers Resolution. This act clearly defined how many soldiers could be deployed by the President of the United States and for how long. It also required formal reports by the President to Congress regarding the status of such deployments, and limited the total amount of time that American forces could be deployed without a formal declaration of war.
So it is past time that people like Marjorie Taylor Green, Speaker McCarthy and John Thune, along with state parrots like Tucker Carlson start stating, that the United States is not going to get into any wars.
The Pentagon can chime in with "we are going to be in a war with China by 2025", but the fact is absolute that China could blow the hell out of Hawaii and unless Congress declared and funded any operations, the United States would not be at war with China, no matter what the Pentagon or Dictator Biden was involved in.
It is past time that the GOPliters and the liberals showed some backbone in Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, in passing resolutions that the United States will not be triggered into any war over any NATO Article 5 or that any goading of China into war for a world war, is not going to bring American intervention.
Congress has to declare a war for America to be involved in a war. Congress does not HAVE to declare any war.
There are numerous examples of China downing US planes as much as the Soviets and no wars were declared. The Jews blew up an American ship in the USS Liberty and no war was declared.
America does not have to fight this war or any war. America can be as George Washington intended in being at peace with the world and a friend to all.
Let us all remember that in the war rhetoric. Under no circumstances does the Lame Cherry desire that Congress declares war or authorizes any war powers. That includes nuclear first strikes and at this time with these wokesters, no return response with nuclear weapons. It is time this conglomerate cartel finance machine which has hijacked the world, cease in being the dictator of what is the reason for Americans to be mass slaughtered.
