This world disorder stuff has been frustrating for me, as they first changed mops so you had to buy a different one, and then you could not get heads, and then the replacements were like 15 bucks and sponges were too high too.
As I have to mop around Richard and Stephanie's furnace daily for pet reasons, it has been frustrating as I need a compact mop to do the job. I had bought like 5 replacement heads in the Thrift, thinking that would last me, but sure as evil is evil, they fell apart in no time at all.
I found a solution though for my problem of the world disorder and that was I use a product called Shoo Goo. Most of these products are phenomenal in what they will hold now. When I got the used GMC, the front plastic grill was shattered, but instead of duct tape, I used another product like Shoo Goo.......not going to mention it as things I mention disappear, and it has held for 10 years now.
What I do is clean the old head plastic off, and then put on shoo goo.
Next step is I got these 3M cellulose sponges and I glue on on each side as it is a squeeze mop. Yes things wear out, but I can get these for like 6 bucks for 4, which is a lot cheaper than the other offerings.
I did glue a mop sponge, which was more like foam rubber back on to a worthless production and that held too. I would like to get some foam rubber maybe and cut it to size, but still would like some kind of big sponge, but they are no longer affordable in most sizes.
So that is the fix, I am going to be building my own mop heads out of necessity. I will get plastic, cut it to size, drill a hole for a bolt to attach it to the mop, glue on the sponge and go to keeping house again.
Have no idea why there is such a hatred of housework, as it is not like any of these wokesters ever lifted a broom in their lives.
Oh probably should have a few tubes of this stuff laying around. It is worth it.
PS on further testing, the cellulose sponges in some forms will wear out more quickly. Probably would be a better solution in foam rubber from old couches or just leave the floors dirty and grow things on them.
