That Other Bing

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I believe that most of you have no idea who Bing Russell is, but I had an OMG moment just now in realizing who he is.

TL and I invested in the Gunsmoke series and all through that series, Bing Russell appears. I had no idea who the man was, other than my refrain to TL,' That's the guy from the Horse Soldiers who William Holden cuts the leg off of".
Holden is a doctor and a Soldiers leg gets infected from not using correct medical treatment and it goes septic, and Bing  Russell is that Soldier. The thing is, he stands out in a cast of some huge names in John Wayne, William Holden, Constance Towers, Hank Worden Ken Curtis, Strother Martin and Denver Pyle, most of those names would appear on Gunsmoke too, but I never forgot the performance I first noticed Bing Russell in.

That is why when I read who his son was, who is one of my favorite actors and Americans in Kurt Russell I had my OMG moment. You can see the resemblance after you know these are father and son.

This duo starred together a few times and Bing was in a number of successful movies. He always was an actor who stood out and on Gunsmoke I always paid attention to his performances as they were always noteworthy.

When I think of all the appearances by these two men, in how much I have enjoyed them, it delights me to know they were related. On contrast, when I think of the torture of being abused by Ron Howard's horrid acting, and how much liberal credit he hoarded, when the real talent in the family was his little brother, Clint and his father Vance, it is a shame that father and son duo were not the focus.

When I see Clint Howard appear, I always stop and watch his work. Both Rance and Clint appeared on Gunsmoke. Regrettably Opie did too as a disturbing hair snuffing teenage sex perv, with zero acting ability.

I think my favorite performance of Clint was in the Charlie Sheen movie, The Wraith.  While he never got to star in a movie, he simply steals the show when he appears. That is real acting talent when you are acting beside real presence like William Shatner.
One of my fondest memories is Clint Howard on Seinfeld. He just took over thee entire episode just with his presence.

He did act with Kurt Russell in Tango and Cash, but it would only be Kurt Russell out of these four incredible actors who would rise to leading men, while the Howards and Mr. Russell were the platforms which rose the stars to the Hollywood lights.

I will wrap this up with the fact, that if Opie comes on the screen I will either groan or switch it off, but when it comes to Rance and Clint Howard, I will stop and pay especial attention, just as with Bing Russell as they are bringing it all onto the screen. You are getting a performance from these actors, not someone standing their like Obama or George Clooney expecting you to watch them stand there, soaked in thee effusions of their ejaculations.

Nuff Said
