Keeping Electricity on in a High Event

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

After JYG was pestering me about his Blue Fuel from NAPA which NAPA no longer carries to jump start car batteries, I started wondering about Richard & Stephanie's furnace they donated in who to keep that motor running as I dislike getting up ever hour in the cold and running the flame for 15 minutes and then shutting things down again.

My original plan was car batteries, but as no time or resources to build that, I came across something called a Jackery lithium high storage power pack. They come in like 300 to 3000 watt storage units. I started reading feedback from people in Florida who used them to power fridges and freezer when the power went out, and the unit was the 880 with I think a 2000 watt peak.

There are used ones or refurbished ones on Ebay, and yes we do have a generator, but too many times a generator motor quits when you need it, and if you use a generator 24 / 7. odds are you will burn it out, so maybe a plug and play would work better.

For once I figured to splurge as TL said, "What good is money if we can't get at it or are sitting here in the cold and dark thinking "Why didn't we buy that?"

As I had a coupon and various things, (No I do not work for Jackery or am compensated.....I would that I was as I would have a half dozen 3000 watt storage units as Home Depot has a limit on the numbers you can purchase.) and having talked to the Swammie's at their California outlet (Units are made in China), I ...........ok you can do the math on the unit you need, but you need common sense as the person who wrote me, had my fan running 24 hours a day........no a furnace fan does not run 24 hours no more than a fridge does.

What you find on the electronic device is apparently the amps. The furnace has a .58 Amp on it in usage.

So you multiple 115 times .58 and this leaves you 67 Watts per hour which is 1600 in 24 hours continuous running. Using common sense I divided that in half, so that is 800 watts. That would mean the 880 would work, but I want a buffer so I got the 1000 for like 750 bucks. Big spend, but this is to help us live in an emergency which people get sick fast if they get cold or stressed. This is not fucking 600 dollar sheets for the king size bed and people having told me they are poor.

The furnace consumes around 67 watts (115*.58) so in 24 hours it will consume around 1600 watts. You would need an E2000 pro to power this furnace for 24 hours:

I figure this blower will probably only run a quarter of that time so am down to 400 Amps, which means I can probably get 2 days out of this unit.

This one is not the fast charge, but is a 5 1/2 hour on AC, and you can charge on a solar panel which I have to afford to get yet, or it comes with a cigarette lighter for a vehicle to charge up.

Whatever, this is going to be charged and sit here ready for use. The feedback stated that people left this unit for like 6 months and it still held 99% charge. That is what I want as the JYG device has to charge monthly or goes to shit.

As I can not really afford this, I still hope to have time to get a 300 which I plan to hook up to lamps with LED lights in them as light is vital to your psychological well being.

This is about the best I can do for you. I'm not going to advocate like Rense did in spending your credit card in debt further for food as they are not going to take your food from you, so at least you have food, because I never like leaving myself that kind of vulnerable as that is the way my old man operated and it tied me up in knots inside in the stress.

It would seem the big expensive units might actually work a heat pump for awhile, which would help people in warmer climates to get through.  This is as I have counselled,  topping things off with things to make things easier. As I stated, I did not get anything about electricity going off this time.

TL and I, like most of you are better prepared than 95% of the people in this country. Yet I still am frustrated by the shortage of funds in this old stuff I'm trying to get running is making me wonder if maybe things are going to be quite limited next year in what follows this High Event.

This is the point that you should know you have water, you will have enough food, you can not travel so you are safe, you have self protection and you have some kind of back up heat source as that is what winter is, and you have to have some kind of heat, and not be the fumducker neighbor who starts their house on fire with a charcoal grill and burns down the block.

The best I can do is point you in the direction with the best solutions.

Oh this Jackery, charges USB's like cell phones, but I doubt those nipples are going to be of any use if things go wrong as they need satellites to send signal. Laptops would function, play games on them or write as I would for the time the order props things up again, before it goes down again.

Keep the Faith baby sister. Keep the Faith.
