I trust nothing connected with the GOPliters, but the new Speaker, Mike Johnson, sounds normal. Having been lied to and betrayed so often though, I did not know that Republicans still existed in the elected political party. Mike Johnson is though been at this for years as a Protestant Christian so he has left a trail like his wife, and they appear legitimate.
Johnson was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. He was first elected to represent Louisiana's 4th congressional district in 2016. During his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Johnson has served as Chair of the Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus of conservatives in Congress, from 2019 to 2021; and as Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference from 2021 to 2023. A member of the Christian right faction of the Republican Party, Johnson is known for having contested the results of the 2020 presidential election on the House floor and in court; for his strong opposition to abortion rights and same-sex marriage; and for his close ties to conservative Christian organizations. Johnson is also a professor at Liberty University.

For me, being out of politics, Mike Johnson has to prove he is a Republican, which means no more funding holocausts in Ukraine or Gaza with blank checks, No more impeachment shit to stall for time. I have no idea what he can and will do, but he will probably be blamed for American going to hell as he did inherit the wind.
