With the advent of Russian supersonic missiles, a glaring inadequacy has been exposed in all American and Western missile defense system and that is the systems can not track, respond and intercept missiles of this speed, and the reason is, the radars as blind to vertical attacks which is what the KH 32 and Khinzal missiles are launched for.
Penetration of missile defense systems
Konstantin Sivkov (Retired Russian colonel) believes that Kh-32 possesses powerful means of breaking through the missile defense system of Aegis Combat System, equipped with Standard Missile 6 missiles:
- The Kh-32 on the final stage attacks the target in a steep dive (breaking the missile defense against radars that do not include objects directly above themselves in their viewing angle);
- Multi-frequency radar in Kh-32 has better resistance to EW such as spot jamming
Thee only "defense" which has been mentioned is intercepting with fighter jets the Russian jets before they launch, which is not any defense at all.
Whether there is a Star Wars particle beam or system in orbit which could deal with these jets is unknown. Star Wars would also have to deal with the hyper glide ICBM's which Russia is now fielding too. I have my doubts on this technology to intercept missiles moving this fast and in this manner.To blow Russian jets out of the sky before they attacked, would be an act of war, and by that time, Russia will have already been through the process of sinking the US Navy and littering Star Wars with debris to make it ineffective.
This is not an answer post for questions. This is a reality post in US systems can not shoot down vertical hypersonic missiles due to being blind and the missiles are moving too fast.
