the depravity of the Romans or their wretchedness? Nay more truly of their depraved wretchedness or of their wretched depravity?
As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
The Lame Cherry is always interested in the signs of the heavens. In Rome in 217 Before Christ, in the war with the Carthigianian Hannibal, the following signs were witnessed in the skies.
Meet you on the other side.
At this time the Romans were also terrified by dreadful prodigies. To give some examples: the sun's disk seemed to be contracted and at Arpi parmae were seen in the sky; the sun also seemed to be fighting with the moon; at Capena two moons arose in the daytime; in Sardinia two shields sweated blood; in the territory of the Faliscans the sky seemed to be rent apart, as it were, by a great fissure; at Antium, when men were harvesting, bloody ears of corn fell into their baskets.
This battle at Lake Trasimene was especially notable, not only because of the great disaster suffered by the Romans, but also because the combatants in the tension and heat of the battle were completely unaware of a terrible earthquake. This assumed so violent proportions that, according to reports, it destroyed cities, moved mountains, tore rocks asunder, and forced rivers back in their courses.
These events have scientific realities. If the sun is getting smaller, it would mean that the earth was being pulled by a gravitational force further from the sun. The moon seems to be an object which moves with the earth. It may change orbit around earth, but, space is like water in objects are not ripped or torn apart. They move in a fluid response.
The moon though was being moved, not by the sun, but by another large object which was deviating it's course.
In the above PARMAE are a Roman shield, this would be two round objects.
This would be the two moons, again two objects, one larger than the moon and due to distance, showing it was the same size.
All of this was moving quite rapidly in a matter of hours and days.
Two shields sweating blood, if they were in the sky, seem more to be perhaps broken up comet pieces, which glowing red, perhaps by dust in the atmosphere, were close enough to observe what would be melting pieces shedding off, which being red would seem to be blood.
The corn if literal, there is not a scientific reason for this.
We come to the last part in the huge earthquake. This would be something on the scale of 9. It was not the earth shaking, but earth moving in one direction. That is why on the battlefield the people did not notice it or as I have felt a shivering of the earth that made no sense. In more centralized locations or those areas with specific non solid base soils, cities would be wiped out. Mountains would be moved, rocks or the land would be ripped in fissures and rivers would back flow as the entire shelf was moved a great distance quickly.
There are no reports of volcanoes. This did not compress the earths core or mantel. What did take place though was a most interesting, when couple with local reports of lightning appearing to arc to earth, animal behavior was strange, births were strange and more bizarre things took place in objects floating.
Hannibal’s presence in Italy was momentous, and this was emphasized by the number of strange prodigies which occurred during these years. An ox climbed to the third floor of a building and threw itself to its death; glowing figures appeared in the sky; a six-month-old child shouted “Triumph!” in the vegetable market; a spear at Lanuvium moved on its own; a crow entered the temple of Juno; men dressed in white were seen wandering at a distance; stones fell from the sky like rain; a wolf stole a sentinel’s sword; soldier’s spears burst into flame in Sicily; two shields began to bleed; the sun appeared to shrink; burning stones fell from heaven at Praeneste; at Arpi the sun seemed to fight with the moon; at Capena two moons were seen at once; the spring of Hercules flowed with blood; in Antium the ears of wheat were found to be bloodied; sweat appeared on the statue of Mars on the Appian Way; goats grew wool; a hen turned into a cock; the sea caught fire; a cow gave birth to a foal; ravens nested in the temple of Juno Sospita; in Apulia a palm tree caught fire; a shower of chalk occurred at Cales; lightning struck the Capitol and the temple of Vulcan; a spear of Mars moved on its own; a Sicilian cow spoke; a woman in Spoletum turned into a man; an altar was seen in the sky; a swarm of bees entered Rome; the temple of Jupiter was struck by lightning at Aricia; phantom warships were seen on the river at Tarracina; the river at Amiternum ran with blood; the sun turned red; a huge rock seemed to fly; a tower at Cumae was destroyed by lightning; a mule gave birth at Raete; a lamb was born with an udder full of milk; in Anagnia the ground before the city gate was struck by lightning and burned for a day and a night; birds abandoned the grove of Diana; snakes of amazing size jumped from the water like fish at play; at Tarquinii a pig was born with a human face; statues sweated blood; a shower of stones fell at Veii; a wolf entered Capua and mauled a guard; two snakes entered the temple of Jupiter at Satricum; a two-headed pig was born; two suns were seen; an ox spoke; a vulture flew into a shop in a crowded forum; it rained milk; a boy was born with the head of an elephant; mice gnawed a golden crown; a swarm of locusts descended on Capua; a foal was born with five feet; at Arpinum a sinkhole opened. Care was taken to expiate these prodigies with appropriate sacrifices.
Madness is associated with the moon in vulnerable people.Science can explain some things, other not as readily. The point in noting this in the End Times, Wormwood and her chicks are out there. Those things of history which seemed impossible should manifest again in this time, mirroring the above.
The 4th-century scholar Servius notes in his commentary to Vergil's Aeneid that "there were seven tokens (pignora) which maintain Roman rule (imperium Romanum)," and gives the following list:
- the needle of the Mother of the Gods (Acus Matris Deum), kept in the Temple of Cybele on the Palatine Hill.;[5]
- the terracotta four-horse chariot brought from Veii (Quadriga Fictilis Veientanorum), supposed to have been commissioned by the last king of Rome Tarqinius Superbus, which was displayed on the roof of the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus on the Capitolium;
- the ashes of Orestes (Cineres Orestis), kept at the same temple;
- the scepter of Priam (Sceptrum Priami), brought to Rome by Aeneas;
- the veil of Ilione (Velum Ilionae), daughter of Priam, another Trojan token attributed to Aeneas;[6]
- the Palladium, kept in the Temple of Vesta;
- the Ancile, the sacred shield of Mars Gradivus[7] given to Numa Pompilius, kept in the Regia hidden among eleven other identical copies to confuse would-be thieves. All twelve shields were ritually paraded each year through Rome by the Salii during the Agonum Martialis.
