I was thinking of writing something about home security as none of the preppers ever explains that there are levels of response from ordinary people. All of us rely on the FBI and police to provide security, but we are being shoved into a world which there might be another bio engineered pandemic or a nuclear war with Russia and China, and if that would take place, then our thin blue lines of protection are going to vanish. That is what this is about in this article. This is not about civilization as we still know it. This is about a time of Daniel Boone and block houses in the middle of nowhere when there is no longer a functioning military or police force to turn to.
I REPEAT, this is not for now as these things would get you into major trouble. This is ONLY for when it is you holed up in your home.
In that, I was most pleased when the educator Stefan Verstappen was schooling people WHO CALL HIM UP FOR CONSULTATIONS and pay money for it, (You seem to forget to donate here and think I can live on eating air and pay my bills with vanishing cream.) that he has begun advocating unlike Mitchel Henderson, in people should shelter in their homes, as in all reality that is where you know where things are and you are familiar, and most of you can not live out in North Dakota in that shit weather anyway.
That is what this is about. How do you keep yourself safe, by turning your property into a compound.
If you have the money, a chain link fence would be most appropriate. You might even put razor or barbed wire on top as you see in the movies as a preparation step. For those like me who have no money what you might start shopping around for a well rod pipe that is cheap enough, cut in 10 foot lengths and you might even have a post pounder to seat them into the ground or cement them in. Paint them a neutral brown or green colour and they look nice enough, set 10 feet apart, perhaps with some man made plank, again neutral colour as your idea is not to attract attention.
You have though something else going on in your perimeter as you have prepared your pipe to have holes or chain links to fasten to. What you have prepared for, is when there are no police as the country is in meltdown of war or Wormwood, is to string rancher barb wire in a spider web weave.
This is kind of what you are going for.
The green is razor wire which is sold on Ebay. The razor wire is INSIDE your fence on the bottom and top.
The blue is barbed wire put into weave pattern. It keeps cows in, so it does work on a cheaper scale.
The red are cattle electric fence. Yes with a solar powered fencer, (they are not cheap in the 500 dollar range) you can put up a fence that will keep people on foot out. If you get clever with those concrete or plastic anti vehicle barriers, it would deter that attack venue as people will figure out to drive through things, unless you have time to get a back hoe and dig a trench which again is a problem as you NEVER put solid things or holes on the outside of your perimeter or criminals or other people's military will hide in them and work on breaching your fence or breach you with a bullet.
There will be two psychological reactions in this. The first is there must be something I want inside that fence and the second is, if someone went to all that trouble, they have allot of things to kill me. Deterrence is what the hard sells on the Plains practiced. Indian terrorists would rather pick on a wagon of settlers than some old bastard with little plunder as they would die with the old guy.
The above, is what you would be doing in that 7 days before Wormwood appeared or the time of an invasion. This could be set in place with the posts in the ground in a few days preparations as most of you have city lots that are not that big.
If you can afford the chain link, then the razor would be added along with the electric. If you want to go the next step when NO POLICE ARE THERE TO PROTECT YOU ANYMORE as you would get into trouble if you did this in civilized times, you could pound in re rod on you side of the fence to impale people trying to jump over, who would then be screaming getting cattle shocked by your electric fence.
What your understanding must understand is a fence is not meant to keep people out. A fence is meant to delay them long enough for you be alerted so you can then deal with the situation as the police would if they were still there.
In another layer of this, is the invention on Amazon in the trip 12 gauge shotgun blank to alert people to an intruder. Some mentioned using live shells, but baby sister you can not take back a pellet or bullet once it is fired. If you are Daniel Boone in an asphalt wilderness it is one thing. It is murder in civilization and if you screw up, and you will screw up with police not around, you would probably end up killing your kids, your dog or your neighbor by going live rounds.

Great device...definitely only use with 12 GA blanks. Did not come with assembly directions, but you should be able to figure it out. Designed so it can be triggered from multiple directions. Use some creativity!! I use 50 lb monofilament clear fishing line as my trip wire. If triggered.....will definitely let you know an intruder is in the area. Be sure to set trip wires high enough to give a pass through by dogs, cats, possums etc. You only want the one who should not be there.... to crap in your yard! The bang will definitely get their attention! Device low...trip wire high enough for dogs to pass through without triggering.
Be sure to re-insert safety and disarm if pets or children are in the area.
This is how you keep your tits safe as your tits are attached to you, and where your supplies are. If you keep your tits safe, then you keep your supplies safe.
You can put up signs, like "Quarantined Bioweapon Contaminated" or "BEWARE POISON SNAKES" on your gate or door which would give pause to those seeking to engage in criminal acts against you. It is about layers, and a sign explaining why your yard is fenced off is the bluff you will need for most instances as what you want is to make this too much effort to deal with you when there are 100,000 homes in your metro which have open fence and easy access like the US border.
Again, people with money, I work on the trust system of Americans in you pay for what you are getting as this is not free as it costs me to live just like you. I'm the one place that is telling you and the things that appear here, soon enough start permeating other sites who charge you as their knowledge. In most cases you have to think of your home in sheltering in place as there is going to be a dangerous world for idiots who think they can show up in North Dakota and the Indians there are not going to go back to what they enjoy when no cops are around in doing the Custer to you.

Oh and one more thing..........you check the trees on your property line as they will be used to crawl over the fence. The neighbor might not appreciate your sawing of with a chainsaw things over your fence, but maybe you can do that on Day 8 of Wormwood or the invasion when no one is going to care.
Always look at your perimeter and ask yourself how you would get through your fence. That is the step then that you find a logical, cheap and effective historical proven method of adding to your line of defense.
You like your tits or you would not keep them around, so keep them safe.
