In this hyper talk of secession of states, everyone in retard mode always focuses on the States which seceded in 1861 AD in the year of our Lord. No one though ever examines the secession in 1862 AD in the year of our Lord of that area of Virginia in the Confederacy, which Congress immediately voted upon to accept as a State in the Union, and the bill which Abraham Lincoln signed ratifying that West Virginia would be a State in the United States.
As Lincoln put it in a wry sort of way, "Our secession is acceptable as it supports the Constitution. The other secession is not acceptable as it is against the Constitution".
The excuse in this was that the people of the Blue Ridge were somehow in danger in being in support of the Union from being attacked by Virginia in the Confederacy. Virginia had enough problems with the Army of the Potomac, failing under General Lee at Sharpsburg and the reality that the Blue Ridge is holler folk and hill country. It would be guerilla warfare for Virginia and it would expend it's army on those ridges trying to kill people who flung themselves through the trees like Tarzan.
That last quote is literal of General Chuck Yeager who was holler folk and grew up there.
The Lame Cherry does believe that a State has the right to secede, but it must be voted upon by the people of the state and also ratified by Congress, just as admission to America has the same rules of order. There are also context in this in a state with this huge national debt can just dump it's share onto 49 other states, after enjoying all the benefits of being American. Furthermore, it is one thing for a spouse to jilt a marriage and move away and in with some greaser or jig, where you do not have to deal with them. It is another matter when Michigan secedes and invites in nuclear armed Pakistan and Iran with nukes to protect them from America.
It seems odd that part of a state seceded from another state which seceded from the Union, to stay in the Union, but that is a reality of 1862 AD in the year of our Lord. It was convenient in West Virginia was far enough north that it could get away with it's own secession, whereas parts of North Carolina were too far south and needed the Union Army to occupy them, but they did not get to become a State, no more than the People of Southern Illinois, were supportive of the Confederacy and would have seceded if they could have gotten away.
Other states, called the border states, in Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland and Missouri did not have such an easy time as they were fought over violently before Union forces won out. Tennessee was still being fought over by Confederate General Hood in 1865 AD when the war was deemed over by most, but the fighting continued.
For that matter, New York City had floated the idea of secession, but it's money men and democrats never mustered the support for such an independent Gotham city state of international trade.........as Lincoln was not for it and it would have done the South not any good as they could not receive the trade.
If there is an answer in this, it is in what is ahead for America as the factions still float this secession and partition lunacy as some kind of reality which can take place. Congress even in this treacherous form now is not going to allow any state to secede or American to Balkanize. Donald Trump is not going to have his legacy as the last President of these United States. Nuclear states like North and South Dakota are sure not going to allow Minnesota to set up some foreign fiefdom on their borders, no more than the people of West Central Minnesota are going to let the Metro turn Minnesota into a Peking satellite.
Under a strong President, as would be a Trump President, he would rally Americans to put a stop to secession nonsense. California for example has Republican areas like most of America is Republican voting and it is the population metros which are where the red areas are of trouble. It is a simple reality that the people of San Diego are not going to be McClellan weak, and would be Grant militant any counties which would secede in California, and gain support from other Union States, and it would not be much of a war with woke whiners. It would be confrontation, a push, a smashing and driving of lines and an occupation of something like San Francisco in probably something more akin to Edward Longshanks with the Scots.
So let us not make the tard conclusion that there is just one kind of secession as Lincoln and America had two kinds. Americans if given reason are not going to fall prey to some McClellan in strategy of bleeding out Americans, but will resort to the Grant and Sherman types early and prosecute this to a most cutting end.
Kamala Harris could not hold America together, but it would be her metros which would cause the mischief, as the Reagan States would comprehend that they just had to bide their time, until the big dogs of Russia appear to fracture the police state, and once that takes place, it will be restoration of America by Reagan States and not secession.
Those who contemplate Balkanizing America have no idea what they speak of or what Americans are. Americans will deal with their situation. This is going to be dealt with one way or the other.
