The following is a prayer which was produced for all clergy to pray for President Lincoln in the Civil War. Enough Clergy and Catholic Priests refused that they had to be helped to have this prayer read.
It is a Protestant Prayer and as God instructed us to pray for our leaders. It is a reminder that our leaders are the representatives of God's good Authority on earth to benefit the Citizen. Something which is a required reminder to a number of forgetful people in power.
It is a good prayer which in some authority would be a good measure for all places of worship and schools to recite at the start of the day.
Almighty God, whose kingdom is everlasting and power infinite; Have mercy upon this whole land, and so rule the hearts of thy servants THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES , THE GOVERNOR OF THIS STATE, and all others in authority, that they, knowing whose ministers they are, may above all things seek thy honour and glory; and that we and all the People, duly considering whose authority they bear, may faithfully and obediently honour them, according to they blessed Word and ordinances; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth ever, one God, world without end. Amen.
Perhaps we will have a General Burnside, General Order #38 so that we may all pray for President Trump.
