The New Duds

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

So as I posted on our 4 dollar Western Knife, this is the presentation version now that I got a buffing stone and took the rust off and there is a nice look to the metal in the finish.

I picked up what looks to be a replacement sheath from the 1980's for Western knives and better than the original for 11 dollars. It is all quite lovely and fits together.

When the weather warms for outside projects, I'm going to put some Shoe Goo epoxy on the handle as it is not in great shape as you can see, and that will seal it up and I will have a pretty good knife.

I figure this specimen is from the late 1950's as I think the old man had some kind of Western knife like this with a not so pretty dark leather sheath when he pretended he was a hunter or it was more like getting pissed up and having fun with the boys.

I like used things as they are used and I do not have to worry about dings. This has plenty of dings and abuse on it in the blade and the handle. I have no idea what the hell the people did to this relic in abuse, but it survived long enough for when the hunter died, the worthless grandkids must have found it and threw it to the Thrift store just to get rid of the junk so the garbage bin would not be full.

I suppose this will some day be a collectors item. Be worth millions if not in the Lame Cherry museum of interesting possessions you can not afford to purchase, but can look through a glass window and admire and wonder what my pretty hands were doing as I left genuine fingerprints on this now wonderful knife.

That's about it as the new duds make this knife pop. It does look though like something Buffalo Bill carved scalps off of Indians over that Custer murder.

Nuff Said
