The Legacy of President Trump - Free Electricity

former NASA scientist and prominent thorium advocate Kirk Sorensen, agree that "thorium was the alternate path". According to Sorensen, during a documentary interview, he states that if the US had not discontinued its research in 1974 it could have "probably achieved energy independence by around 2000"

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

Thankfully the leadership of President Donald Trump is returning America to the sanity of Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan in reducing nuclear weapons, getting rid of making Americans nuclear targets and stating that fact that America does not need piles more of nuclear warheads in the thousands America already has.

That is the reality that America no longer needs nuclear power plants to breed nuclear bomb fuel.

This opens up for President Trump what he has spoken of in small scale nuclear power plants, and the perfect fit of this in metro power plants are the Nixon era, successful Thorium power plants which were set aside, because bomb makers wanted uranium and plutonium for war which no one would win.

A Thorium Reactor is unique in once the heat is generated, from a start up cocktail of nuclear fuel, the thorium breeds it's own hot fuel perpetually.  This is about the safest fuel in the world as if the reactor gets too hot, a plug melts and the material flows into a pit to be stored. There is not any nuclear meltdowns like Chernobyl.

Read the benefits below and I will meet you on the other side.

Fewer reaction startup ingredients. According to Moir and Teller, "once started up [, a breeding reactor] needs no other fuel except thorium because [a breeding reactor] makes most or all of its own fuel." Breeding reactors produce at least as much fissile material as they consume.

  • No enrichment necessary. Since all natural thorium can be used as fuel, no expensive fuel enrichment is needed. However the same is true for U-238, as fertile fuel in the uranium-plutonium cycle.
  • Efficiency. Comparing the amount of thorium needed with coal, Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia of CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), estimates that one ton of thorium can produce as much energy as 200 tons of uranium, or 3,500,000 tons of coal.
  • Failsafe measures. Liquid fluoride thorium reactors are designed to be meltdown proof. A fusible plug at the bottom of the reactor melts in the event of a power failure or if temperatures exceed a set limit, draining the fuel into an underground tank for safe storage

In the leadership of President Trump it would be possible with AI to produce super efficient Thorium Reactors, on metro or county size grids. I state plainly here, that the President has not said one thing about free electricity, but that is my pipe dream in the reality of the Trump Energy Program would be to mass produce like Henry Ford Thorium Reactors, which would then be marketed across the globe to other nations, and those nations would then purchase the electricity, and the subsidy of this would be that Americans would be provide free electricity, as the Public Utilities would state operational prices and this money would the come from the foreign rental of the Trump Thorium Reactors.

It would be one of many legacies which President Trump would leave Americans with in having saved the nation.

I was looking at the uses for spent nuclear fuel and the Department of Energy has one reactor, which would be a perfect use for spent fuel, with Elon Musk taking it off planet, where it would generate electricity on space stations and the new robotic colonies on Mars and the moon Io in mining operations.

There are also some advanced reactor designs in development  that could consume or run on spent nuclear fuel in the future.

The sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) uses liquid metal (sodium) as a coolant instead of water that is typically used in U.S. commercial power plants. This allows for the coolant to operate at higher temperatures and lower pressures than current reactors—improving the efficiency and safety of the system.

The SFR also uses a fast neutron spectrum, meaning that neutrons can cause fission without having to be slowed down first as they are in current reactors. This could allow SFRs to use both fissile material and spent fuel from current reactors to produce electricity.

My intent is not to put President Trump into a position where he has to respond to some popular girl in advocating things he never stated. I just am fed up with the way America was overthrown as America used to be a nation where Andrew Carnegie gave Americans cheap steel in making foreigners pay for it all.

Why not rent the best reactors in the world to other nations, manage them for them, and as part of the price, take it out in trade in things they have in materials or in cash. Affordable electricity for the 3rd world is a life giving remedy to them and they can pay what they can afford and Americans will not have to pay for their electricity at all.
