In the barrel stove wood burning adventures, I wanted to make these points.
If you have smoke, it is one of three things.
1. Your wood is damp.
2. You do not have enough draft in oxygen to the fire or uptake up the chimney.
3. You do not have enough wood in the fire.
4. You stupidly stacked your wood, instead of layering it.
There is a balance in burning wood. You have to have enough fuel to make it burn. Smoldering fires are not enough fuel in most cases.
That is all I have to say on this.
