As I have not been paying attention to the US military as after all we knew that the 223 in the M 16 was the crippler to end all enemy wars in taking an army to evacuate one scratched trooper, so why would the military need anything else to shoot...............
Apparently for the past few years, the Germans convinced the Pentagon that they needed to buy a new rifle because the 223 was bouncing off of body armor. Typical in not building a better bullet, the military builds a whole new gun and cartridge.
I do not know if this 277 Sig Fury is supposed to cripple the enemy so the whole army carries the victim from the field, or what is the idea in this, I just know a few realities about guns and ammo, and assess this here for Secretary Hegseth.
So the Germans, and they are all Germans, even in SIG decided to take the 308 NATO which the Pentagon did not want as pussy soldiers could not fire it and the ammo was too big and stuck in a 7 mm bullet so to speak. They went Twilight Zone in expense as the casing has a base, a locking washer and a body, yes 3 pieces, but what could go wrong with that?

But not to stop there, the picture shows a casing full of powder, which means compressed loads. What could go wrong with that?
Powder jiggles, turns into finer powder and you get super hot loads that either fuck up when fired or blow your gun up.
Let us continue on as this new behemoth produces 80,000 foot pounds of energy in firing. I know that is a bit much for most of you, but the 308 was a humdinger at 60,000 foot pounds.

How about this one. In world war deuce, the 50 caliber machine guns when test fired, would sometimes blow on bombers as it was cold and the metal fatigued when heated fast. Gee we are going to be fighting in the Arctic. I wonder what might happen to these 277's with that much pressure in the barrels in the cold.

This is the US military. Bonzo has glasses and can not see. Bonzo has a clip where he can't keep near the ground, and Bonzo has his head up where an old dinosaur AK 47 is going to drill a hole in his helmet and leak his brains out till death do them part.
I have been watching the American heroes in uniform in the past several wars and these heroes have a trait. They stick a rifle up over a wall and with keeping their head down, fire a full clip. That might work ok with a 223, but these heroes try that, and they will with an 80,000 pound rifle that bucks, they are going to be spray their own troops hunkered down.

So the 30.06 was no good because pussy soldiers could not handle the recoil. The 308 was not any good as pussy soldiers could not handle that either. Then comes the 223 and the pussies loved that, but now the heroes are all going to be armed with this 277.
In the meantime, Russia and China are arming their warriors with drones, with hypersonics which blow the life out of masses of soldiers to the tune of 1 million in Ukraine, so somewhere in this might be a lesson in this 1947 weapon of Russia with a dino cartridge is ok, when it is backed by the weapons which are going to appear in combat.
Finally a reality check, the 30.06 will penetrate anything humans are hiding behind, so this 277 is a waste of money and spending money on NON AMERICAN corporates again.
