As I write this in August, the light of peace of Donald Trump is breaking through in the war in Ukraine. The sign of peace is that American and British analysts are examining drone warfare, and warning that this is not where NATO should be focusing it's attention. This is exactly as I have stated here in tech wars will lose a real war.
What the Lame Cherry chooses to explain in this is, Ukraine has used American artillery to disperse Russian positions and mine fields to hold Russians from fast advances. This holding pattern allows the slight success Ukraine has had with drones. The reality is though Russian supplementing with their drones has inflicted far more damage than Kiev ever did.
The Lame Cherry will state this. Russia has never chosen to break through lines for conquest. Russia has been involved in a war of attrition to break NATO and to break Ukraine. They never wanted a big or fast war, as that would bring on a bigger war faster which Russia does not want to fight.

The fastest way is air cavalry in dropping bases behind enemy lines and striking or as in General MacArthur's Inchon Bay landing behind North Korean troops, you blitz the backfield and once the enemy is moving, you kill it that way.

Drones have a terror purpose in combat, much like mustard gas. I would that there was a convention to outlaw anti human drones. There are laws against using RPG's against humans, and only against tanks, so employ the same civilized treaty for troops.
To state that drones are just drones is to miss the point. The 4 prop anti human drones are not the same class as the Russian jet powered Geranium. That is the drone of war. It is small, fast, long range, and putting red mercury or mini nukes on that baby, would make a war very short, and every easy for tanks and mechanized units to make nations surrender.
It goes back to the Elon Musk simple statement of people in fighter jets are outdated. Robotic hypersonic jets, hypersonic missiles and now these Geraniums are the low cost expedient to war. Yes Star Wars in lasers and beams are an invested necessity, as much as the anti gravitational flying objects, but a nation needs what I termed NOMAD years ago and offered to build, in a robotic sentry which could move forward, and kill targets as an infantry division. This would be powered by a small fuel engine, battery pack and charged with an alternator. Think of it more as a mother hen of hornet drones to attack the enemy, and to emit sound waves to incapacitate the enemy.
So as one can see in the flat brains of the EU and USA, they miss this conversation by the focus on prop drones and want their heavy tanks, which are no match for air platforms of rudimentary design, meaning one does not need Gen 5 fighters, when an old style Warthog jet will kill every tank on one mission, flying air speed slow, but faster than a tank ever can achieve.
Ukraine was never meant to be a war of progression, so analyzing it in terms of advancement is incorrect. America must end this ridiculous arms mismanagement in cover trillions for trillions spent on high end technology systems which are not used. In the next war, you either win it in 3 weeks or technology will burn out and then it will be the side who has the clubs to bash brains in, which will win in 3 years.
