boomer rock

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

Sometimes I get stunned listening to boomer rock yet as today, as TL and I had on the radio and Jane came on. TL thought it was Foreigner, and I always thought it was Boston as the singer sounded close. The playlist came up on the FM dial and here it was to our astonishment, Jefferson Starship. I never had time for Starship, all I seem to recall was that shit song We Built This City, which was Grace Slick at her worst after the stellar work like White Rabbit with the Airplane.

Jefferson Starship - Jane (Official Audio) - YouTube

Dec 5, 2017 ... You’re listening to the official audio for “Jane“ by Jefferson Starship from the album ‘Freedom at Point Zero’ (1979) Visit the Jefferson ...

Turns out it was Mickey Thomas who sang the vocals, and when you know he sang Fooled Around and Feel in Love, you cringe and wonder how the same guy could belt out Jane and do that dreary Fooled Around vocals.

I make mistakes on music sometimes in sound alikes. For years, I had thought that the only song I really liked by that liberal Bruce Springsteen, was A Matter of Trust. Was telling TL that on boomer rock when the DJ said it was Billy Joel. That was a surprise and that is my favorite Billy Joel song as most of his stuff is just that off genre stuff.

I am a blues guitar rocker. Piano’s do not belong in Rock. Jerry Lee Lewis was a bad influence. Organs are prized in The Doors magnificent work. Horns do not belong at all. Yes this is me who relishes the Grass Roots with those damned horns blaring, but my hypocrisy has it’s limits to the saxophone limited to Foreigner in Urgent, or some of the outstanding work of 3 Dog Night.

Locomotive Breath - YouTube

Feb 17, 2017 ... Provided to YouTube by Parlophone UK Locomotive Breath · Jethro Tull Aqualung ℗ 1971 Parlophone Records Ltd, a Warner Music Group Company ..

OK for hypo revisit, the pure sacrilege of violation is Jethro Tull in Locomotive Breath, that damned flute, that piano growling, the rock, and that shit singer is just a fantastic creation which violates all rock foundations. I love it!
