As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
I have been reading the memoirs of Colonel Charles Askins and upon the conclusion I had dropped a note to Richard and Stephanie about casting about to look for a book to read as I had “Before the Mast” but was not in the mood, and the African book I found on archive.org sucked in I blasted through 300 plus pages in a few hours as nothing was worthwhile reading.
So I went off to do things, probably burning wood and things as it was cold, and walked by the laptop which was open and was puzzled as to what was open, and it was the small PDF reader I have for books.
Upon closer inspection I thought it might be Grant’s Memoirs as I had been speed reading that sometime last year, but it was the memoirs instead of Thomas Hart Benton which I had been putting off as he has allot of information which is not mentioned in history and I was not in the mood for heavy lifting.
I was puzzled as I did not open the program. No one was around to click on the thing, yet there was me typing a few hours before in not having a book, and I had forgotten about the Benton book, and there it is, open and ready to read.
This baffles me as I was wondering if God in the Holy Angels did this, or maybe it was Echo monitoring me. Then I just thought is it the ghost of Thomas Hart Benton in someone wants me to read this book. The last chapter on President Monroe would be a college course in all the information to study.
So I do have a book to wander through and the chapter I’m sitting on now is Tariffs and the US economy, yes timely. My question is as I have not inquired is who did this great feat?
Is just the stuff that happens in my life. Makes no sense and yet things happen for my benefit. Like I have been wanting a quilted lined flannel shirt jacket as the one I wear was the horrid relatives which I dug out of the junk pile, and was buried in dirt. Took like 3 washings before it stopped being dusty. The zipper is broke, but I’m not spending 14 bucks on a zipper and Ebay had some for like 45 dollars as I do not want nylon as that is cold on bare skin……..and I kept checking in the Thrift and the closest I came was a shirt a beaner bought and brought back, kind of frayed, and then that disappeared too, but they wanted 8 bucks for it.
So today in hordes of beaners, like I do not exaggerate in there were more beaners in the Thrift than in Mexico or Minnesota, on a dollar sale for winter coats……….there hangs a hoodie flannel with a zipper in the coat rack. I get it, it is reversible, is lovely in I like it and not wore out. Will be perfect for night time from cool weather to mosquitoes.
That is God looking out for me in a horde of beaners.
Don’t know who did the book thing in looking out for me. That baffles me yet.
