As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
The Holy Ghost led me the verse of Rachel weeping for her children, because they were not, as a Prophetic discourse on the future of the children of Rachel, namely thee Americans and English when Judgement comes upon the House of Joseph. So I was looking for the verse again in Jeremiah, and the one in Matthew came up, and in the online search I came across this Jewish Woman site of some person whining that their Jewish mother was not loving to them.
The reply was one which interested me as it began with these Jewish converts stating that Rachel was their mother. I marvel at how twisted these Ashkenaz are in making everything about them and somehow making it into something they will suffer.
It gets worse as the "quote" from Scripture IS NOT SCRIPTURE which I will point out in this way.
So read on.
The story of Rachel, our mother, who dies at a the young age of 36, is one of the most moving accounts you will ever read in the Torah and one that nurtures us to this very day.
“Rachel began to give birth. Her labor was extremely difficult ... She was dying, and as she breathed her last, she named the child Ben-oni (“My Sorrow’s Son”). His father called him Benjamin. Rachel died and was buried on the road to Ephrath, now known as Bethlehem. Jacob set up a monument on her grave. This is the monument that is on Rachel’s grave to this very day” (Genesis 35:16–20).
Rachel’s sad death in childbirth, giving her life for her newborn child, would personify Rachel’s historical role as the quintessential mother who would sacrifice herself for her children, throughout the ages, until the end of time.
Why was our mother Rachel buried on the road and not in the Machpelah Cave in Hebron, where the “founding” four couples (Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, and later, Jacob and Leah) were laid to rest? Hebron is not that far from Bethlehem. Why did Jacob not make the extra effort to honor his beloved wife and accord her the dignity of a proper burial in a respectable resting place, beside all the Patriarchs and Matriarchs?!
Jacob himself, lying on his own deathbed, answered this question, when he made Joseph swear to bury him in Hebron together with his fathers: “And I, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the Land of Canaan, on the road, a short distance from Ephrath; and I buried her there on the road to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem” (Genesis 48:7). “I am asking you to trouble yourself to take me to be buried in the [Holy] Land ... even though I did not do the same for your mother. She died near Bethlehem ... and I did not even take her to Bethlehem to bring her to [a settled place in] the Land. I know that there is resentment in your heart toward me [over this]. But know that it was by divine command that I buried her there, so that she should be a help for her children when Nebuzaradan [of Babylon] will exile them and they will pass by there. Then Rachel will come out upon her grave and weep and plead for mercy for them, as it is written (Jeremiah 31:14–16): ‘A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping: Rachel is weeping for her children and refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are away. And G‑d will answer her: Restrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work will be rewarded, says G‑d, and they will return from the land of the enemy.
OK to clear away the bullshit. Matthew in quoting Jeremiah was Inspired by the Holy Ghost who Inspired Jeremiah. Rachel is the mother of Joseph and Benjamin. Rachel's sister Leah, is the mother of Judah. These sisters never got along. The Bible makes zero mention of why Jacob buried her on the side of the road and left a monument. There is no indication of Divine direction in this.Jacob often did what was convenient for him, so we do not know.
The point in this is the modern Jew is Ashkenaz out of Ukraine. They are the children of Japheth of Noah. The Shemites are from the children of Shem, another son of Noah. Rachel in not any way is a mother to the Jews or Judahites.
The children whom "Rachel" is weeping are the children who were slaughtered, 2 years and younger, by King Herod, after the Wise Men appeared and asked where the King was born Whose star they had seen. Herod on learning the star appeared years before, ordered the mass murder of every child in the area to murder Jesus.
Historically Bethlehem or Raamah is in the tribe of Judah's inheritance, but in other parts of the Bible there are indications that this village area was part of the inheritance of Ephraim. This is important as David from his father Jesse traces his roots to this village through Ruth. David was of Judah, but his tribal fusion also included Ephraim who would hold the Scepter when David's Throne was overturned. This throne resides in London due to the Prophet Jeremiah and God's Workings. It is a rather beautiful nuance by God, that Judah would have the Kingship, but do not overlook that David married into the first king's family of Saul a Benjaminite, a brother of Joseph, making the two houses combined in David legally, and in Christ, whose birthright was Bethlehem of Judea.
Rachel was buried there by God's foresight, but also so she would not rot in being transported to Hebron. Leah was the first wife by crooked means, but she had the right to the Hebron tomb. There is no mention of Leah coming out of her tomb to weep for the exiled Judahites.
The Custom: In the ancient world, without refrigeration or modern embalming, a body had to be buried immediately—typically on the exact day of death. The Decision: Because Rachel died in the middle of childbirth on the rugged, dusty roadside, Jacob could not transport her body for days across rough country to Hebron. He buried her immediately where she fell, right on the border of Bethlehem (Ephrath), and set up a permanent stone pillar to mark her resting place.
- She is not the mother of Judah.
- She would not weep for Judah’s children, because Judah belongs to Leah.
