Gehenna not just another hell

Language fascinates me as it reveals so much and conceals even more. For example, the Anglo Saxon hell is where they used to store root crops in the winter, because hell meant a hole in the ground.

So in the King James Version, the Olde English will translate many words from love to mercy, charity, caring which is depending on spelling the Hebrew, hesed or checed, which is an all encompassing, to die for and give all defending love which God exhibits. Jesus would term it the shepherd laying down his life to save the flock of sheep from a lion.

Hell though like many words is three places like heaven is in the Bible. The heaven God rules is one place, the heavens where the stars are is another and heaven as in the upper skies is a third.
Hell can be the grave. Hell can be Sheol or the Greek Hades or Hell can be Gahenna, which is the perpetual fire which used to burn outside in the dumps of Jerusalem which Jesus is quoted as an example.

The same hold true in people confusing a living body which has a soul, in thinking this is the spirit of a person. The soul is the essence, a garden bed, which is what is meant when God breathed life into Adam's clay formed body to making him a living soul. The spirit in a person is what is sown inside when God's Holy Spirit infuses the eternal and transform the mortal man in his body with his immortal soul into an eternal being like unto God in character.

The Bible teaches that we are to fear God Who is able to destroy both the body and soul in hell. That hell is Gehenna in the lake of fire. Notice though that the teaching is not that the spirit can be destroyed in Gehenna, because once again the spirit is eternal.

This is the confusion along with silliness that people come up with in thinking people are angels or become angels when they die. Words mean things but the word meanings are being cluttered up terribly to confuse ignorant people who have never invested a second in God trying to comprehend what it all means.
A spirit is a being which is like concrete and can not change once set. That is why there is no redemption for the consuming force of satan as once that creature and a third of the host of heaven rebelled, they were forever anti God.
Holy Angels likewise are that way forever in perfect ministering servants to God's will.

ABC had a program on this past year which was very good in Life on Mars. I was immensely impressed when I seldom am in the writers of that series in one program had the blonde heroine praying a prayer which was as perfect as the Lord's Prayer.
In it she was asking for God's help and included God sending His Angels to protect and minister to our needs. That is exactly what Angels do and for the writers of that series to know exactly that prayer without Catholic dogma or Oprah nonsense, is a great deal like the movie Ghost. I have always pondered that movie in how close it was to the reality of the unseen and the spiritual ability people have, but few ever develop in this life.

Gehenna though is the destination for all the consuming or selfish forces in man and demon which inhabit this earth for it is their chosen prison. Some will be consumed, but the true reprobate who has taken God's Spirit and returned to the blasphemy of denying God His place, will like the demons face eternal death which does not die, as in their worm dieth not.

To be destroyed and not "be" is a much more a better end for those imprisoned now in Sheol in the abode of the unsaved dead who never became spiritual compared to the spiritual who then rejected God like Lucifer and became the devil.
That is what is behind the confusion of burning in hell forever and the references to being destroyed in the Lake of Fire or Gehenna. There are differences in places and people which need to be understood as then the subjects make perfect sense.

Gehenna is interesting as it is a perpetual flame not of heaven apparently and not generated by fuel. It simply is a flame not of source like a wood fire. It simply "is", a sort of God's Spiritual Fire which burns continuously, but without a life force.
The place is one of mourning, deep weeping and lamentation, for what could be worse in this human existence than to know there is no more hope, no more tomorrow, no chance of escape. That one has rejected God in His Love, Salvation and Redemption, chosen your destination and in a fitting way, the rejection of Living Water is replaced with the prison of consuming fires equal to the consuming selfishness which one manifested their entire life on earth.

This is why in Newtonian Law, which is God's Divine Law to teach in this dimension, I have noted that the consuming which Barack Obama and his entire cast of voters are initiating from infanticide, massive debt, the theft and plundering of people's savings and American industry, can not but cause an equal and opposite reaction which will wash over them in a liquid fire. They have unleashed the consuming flame of the law and that same flame will have to be fed by the people who have unleashed it.

There are secrets in all of this from Jesus speaking about a demon being cast out, wandering the dry places for a time. People are fluid and it seems that the liquid of people causes and effect where these demons have to go to someplace unlike God in recuperating.
Notice though too that leviathan, comes out of the sea which is the base of demonism, but this liquid force is replaced by the dry places. They seek the liquid of humanity to possess, but are incompatible it appears.
After recuperating, they then take up with 7 worse demons and return to the unlocked human soul and possess them to make the last state of that person worse than the first. It is just like so many times a drug addict goes clean, but those who return always become the worst for it in the end without hope.

So then just like people who reject God, demons will be part of their chosen destination of a flame which forever consumes them but they will never be consumed by it........just as their lust could never be satisfied.

God's irony is poetic. His realm is fullness of flowing waters and the place the selfish have conducted their lives in never having enough, becomes the prison of their own making an eternal dry consuming flame.
