I was reviewing the comments on the Washington Examiner site in a posting by David Sherfinski about a Virginian starting a Redneck Society with dues to represent that majority and was struck how ignorant the Examiner and every comment was, as in Jeff Foxworthy slang they had no idea what or who a redneck was, with the Examiner featuring the photo on the left as "redneck".There was a list which included NASCAR, country music and duct tape which somehow made one a redneck by liking them and there were the hate the "cracker" lines from liberals, but the reality is the entire group revealed how stupid, uninformed and ignornant they are like all liberals condemning Reagan Blue State America now called redstate by dead Tim Russert the propagandist from NBC.
NASCAR did not exist in connection with rednecks nor did any other Jeff Foxworthy definitions, because rednecks got he term redneck just like German or Deutsch or Dutch (See American east coast English patricians couldn't even pronounce German correctly in their education) in calling the Germans by the name Jahn Cheese, due to the fact Germans had dairy farms and produced immense amounts of Cheese.
I have explained this previously in that term Jahn Cheese was picked up by British types in a slur of not being intelligent enough to comprehend the word and it became Yankees which all Americans are known by.
There are many situations in history like this in incoming dolts hearing the French yell MARCHE at their sled dogs, in Indians mispronouncing that and Americans in a Gold Rush thought they heard MUSH, and that is now the term yelled by all those little patricians thinking they are so smart.
Rednecks got that term from having red necks. They got red necks from driving a mule on their 40 acres to produce various crops in the summer sun to feed their families and create a renewable crop from corn to cotton.

A hick is a redneck from northern areas, as is a bumpkin from small farming areas as is a rube as is a hayseed. All labeled by asses from cities, whose parents exploited the poor in America, and gained fortunes so the children could vacation on the frontier among the yokels.
