H. W. told the Christians to shut up and go home, in dismantling the Moral Majority and Chirstian Coalition........which got him defeated in the race against Bill Clinton.
H. W. literally trashed the American Hispanics by treating them like dirt.
The last is thee most important in this, as Jeb Bush calls time and again for reaching out to latins as it was his old man, his family and his patricians who literally destroyed the GOP links to the Hispanic community which Ronald Reagan had invested so much into buidling, as there was a time in Reagan landslide America where the Latinos were voting for the GOP in mass in California, New York and Florida.
Linda Chavez was the leading candidate for Ronald Reagan's outreach and she was marvelous. She did wonderful work, until Ed Rollins literally destroyed her Senate run in the first political rape of the modern GOP woman.
Yes, Sarah Palin was not the first, it was a Hispanic woman who was the first victim of the GOP establishment run by the Bush clack.
