A Matter of Record

As this Christ season approaches which has come to be known as Christmas from the Catholic Christ mass which originated from a pagan celebration, I thought it might be interesting to look at a few simple things which God thought important to accomplish and record.

It is recorded that the reason Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea was because Caesar Augustus had decided that a taxation of the world would occur and everyone was to return to their birthplace to be recorded.

Did You ever consider that our Father moved the most powerful man on earth, an Emperor, so His Son according to prophecy would be recorded as being born where He said He would be?

The Father did this by literally displacing the entire population of the world. Imagine if this Christmas You and Your entire family had to return to the place of Your dad’s birth. It was a HUGE undertaking.

God found it so important, that He made certain that the world government which would in 33 years execute His Son, be made to make a historical legal document ascertaining the genealogy, place and birth of Jesus, so there would not be any doubt

Just as in Jesus public execution there would be no doubt He had been executed for the sins of the world..

The Father also went on to announce to simple Shepherds, the reflection of His Son, that the One prophesied about was born in Bethlehem, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.

Did You ever consider the swaddling clothes and why they were recorded?

For many people, they understand that swaddling clothes are “like baby clothes” and do not go beyond that, but the Spirit wants to explain a central theme in what God was really saying when the Angels proclaimed, “For unto You is born this day in the city of David, a Savoir, who is Christ (the Messiah or Anointed One) the Lord.”
What the Father was not proclaiming was the birth of His Son…but the Death of His Son as a Savior.

Swaddling clothes are narrow strips of cloth meant to wrap up a body. In 33 years, Jesus was to be wrapped up again in narrow strips of cloth after He had finished His earthly mission when He was executed.

The third sign recorded of Jesus was that He would be found in a manger.

Did You ever consider why a manger?

A manger is a feeding trough for animals. It was important in the purpose of God to show the world that His Son who would later proclaim Himself to be the Bread of Life that He would be shown to the world in that manner as an infant. In the same light, as He was the provider of the Manna from heaven when Israel left Egypt and needed to be sustained in the wilderness.
Jesus would 33 years later in symbol give us His Body in the form of Bread in the New Passover or Communion and literally have his body broken upon the cross for our salvation from sins.

The strange message which God presented was. “This is my Son who was born to die.”

In a perfect circle, the infant child was set before the world in a perfect sacrifice at His birth.

So please remember the message of God which gets lost in the world’s Christmas Story, because the essence of what God says is recorded in that one verse in St. Luke. Because, Jesus never once instructed us to remember His birth….but to only remember His death and celebrate His raising Himself from the dead, because that is what was the important part to Him, our Salvation.

God watch over all of You.
