That is a responsibility and it goes to the wealthy, whether landowner, farmer, industrialist, Wall Street Investor, banker or however that pile of money you claim as your own is under your control for now.
You are required to take care of the poor. That means more than starvation rations or passing it off on the regime.
It used to be all had farmland and were required to NOT harvest to the last grain. People were required to glean once, and then leave what was in the field for the poor to gather so they would be fed.

This THING, is about treating others as you would want to be treated if you were poor. This THING is not just giving away your garbage at Good Will as in your worn out crap which you dump so you do not have to pay a garbage fee, but in making certain that what is being donated is not going to cause more anguish to the poor.
You want to be thought of as generous, good and a Christian. THEN EARN THAT TITLE by treating people better than how you treat your cat or your car.
This is not 1960 where you could fill a car with 20 dollars of groceries. This is not 1960 when you could buy a house for 3000 dollars. This is not 1960 when you could live on 200 dollars a month and have enough left over to open a passbook savings account for Christmas.
You people who have money find all the reasons to enhance your lifestyles to extravagance, but find only excuses to not make life really better for the poor.

I am informing you to do what is right. To give to the truly poor in the fulfillment of God's command. That gleaning they did was for an entire year of food and not a meal. If you want the poor to work for it, then hire them to mow your lawn for a living wage and not see how cheap you can get by.
You remember who you are in where you were once or who your people were once, as that is what God commands. I remind you that if you did in a grocery, a restaurant or the government in what you have done on this blog, you would be in prison for robbery in not paying your bills.
God will visit this on you. That is His Promise in avenging the poor. Those crumbs and dogs licking Lazarus under the rich man's table got the rich fellow in hell begging for a drop of water.
Stop being a stranger to the Truth, because Jesus is the Truth, and you do not want to be estranged from Him.
