ideas of history

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I prefer anecdotes in history as they convey the reality of people how they really are, instead of the mournful fiction of all walking upon the water.

This reality is of the people of Louisiana in their congenital make up as of 1860 AD in the year of our Lord.

"We had never owned a horse, and he assured us that the animal was his own, and by turns set us on the tired mule's back. He explained to mother and us children how, though he was an infantryman, he came into possession of the animal. Now, however, with my mature years and knowledge of brands, I regret to state that the mule had not been condemned and was in the "U.S." brand.

A story which Priest, "The Rebel," once told me throws some light on the matter; he asserted that all good soldiers would steal. "Can you take the city of St. Louis?" was asked of General Price. "I don't know as I can take it," replied the general to his consulting superiors, "but if you will give me Louisiana troops, I'll agree to steal it."

- Andy Adams

Of course soldiers stole. They also had wearing tales of hardships like squawking shutters in the wind that never shut up, and the best way to shut them up was to feed them a biscuit.

I do find it interesting that in all of America, General Price noted, that the fine troops of Louisiana were natural born thieves and could carry away an entire town.......even if they had not the ability to conquer it.

Perhaps that should be the more proper method of warfare, just stealing towns. Think of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, instead of being nuclear vaporized, if the Americans had just sent in Louisiana men, who would have stolen ever brick and Japper woman, and brought them to Louisiana to be the new slaves, instead of the 21st century Obama Mexican invaders.
The Japanese are prettier, easier to keep in feed and shelter, work just as hard, and are not prone to be Catholics or mob rioters.

If Americans would have stole Vietnam, things would have been better...same with Korea.....Germany and I think Iraq too in the oil, and the Iraqi women are pretty, and if you made them Christian, they would probably make good enough servants.

I like the ideas of history in reality. They teach the things which should be taught and known.
