Edgar Stull

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

One of my favorite pictures is in the back of S. Stanley Hawbaker's trapping book as it is pictured above. What entices me in this photo is how absolutely happy the children are, which are listed as the Grandchildren of Edgar Stull of Pennsylvania, in being a great help on the part time trapline, Mr. Stull ran.

I mentioned to TL recently how I bet there was no arrest records or anything bad in these children in their families being now grown up, and decided to just pass by them unawares and see what fruits Edgar Stull and his wife produced on this earth which made it a better place for all of us.

You must comprehend something, in you or your children do not have to be president of some nation or have a million dollar portfolio to be a great success in this life. You just have to be Edgar Stull being a good Christian Citizen living a moral life in your country.

I found Mr. Stull passed away in 2002 AD in the year or our Lord, after living 88 years with his equally long lived wife. Their children produced good families and families with step children who I am positive benefited from Edgar Stull, as his entire community did, as the Stulls had a road named for them, and that meant they were a family who added to the community of rugged individuals making a difference.

Edgar J. Stull

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Edgar J. Stull, 88, of 11404 Stull Road, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1913, in Cashtown, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary Hardy Stull.
He attended Brown's Mill School and Rock Hill School.

He was an auctioneer for more than 71 years, with Greencastle Livestock Auction since the early 1940s and with the Woodsboro Maryland Livestock Auction in Frederick, Md.
He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ in Chambersburg, Pa.
He volunteered his time as auctioneer for many organizations, including Shalom Christian Academy, Little Cove Mennonite Camp, Macedonia Church, Blue Ridge Fire Co., Twin Bridges Antique Tractor Sale, Two Tops Ruritan Club and the annual Waynesboro Cancer Auction.
He is survived by his wife of more than 63 years, M. Louise Grosh Stull; a son, E. Berlin Stull of Greencastle; a granddaughter; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, an infant sister, Edna Stull, and Nettie Wildeson; and two brothers, an infant brother, Lester Stull, and Llwellyn Stull.

None of this is going to be remembered but by God and family members, but it is the important stuff like Baby Girl and the Viking telling me how she got an A on a math test and the teacher wrote NICE on the paper. It is those types of responsible things which in being a good Citizen which makes things better for all of us.

It pleases me that the children all grew up for Edgar Stull and his son, and how those grandchildren had 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.
That has done more for America than anything that has been foisted on Americans in 50 state legislatures or DC.
No one will note this, but I wondered in S. Stanley Hawbaker's book in who those most pleasant children were for a number of years with their catch of Grandfather's muskrat, possum, raccoon, fox and skunk.  The greatest thing in this world is to see children so happy and at peace, which comes from a good home, and to see how that makes a difference in their family's lives too.

The recreational trapping group does seem to rear a greater percentage of good children who are well adjusted. It is as the olde saying goes, "Take a kid hunting and you will not have to go hunting for a kid, and take a kid trapping and you will not end up catching them doing things they should not be doing later."

It all makes a difference in making the odds in a bad world, break with God's help, to a better world for all of us.

That needs to be reminded and needs to be worked at in each of us, each day.
