As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
Honeywell 50250-S True HEPA Air Purifier, 390 square feet
From time to time, the Lame Cherry gives a product review of things I have had contact with by experience which have turned out well enough, that if you are having allergy, breathing problems or your house has enough mold, mildew and dirt floating around, that you can throw tomatoe seeds into the air and you would swear they would start growing roots as your air is that thick, then maybe an air purifier might be an answer.
My mother had one of those little quart jar sized things, and it seemed worthless as hell. I picked one up in the junk store for TL who due to various reasons of satanic attacks from people being complete A holes, needed some air purification in the metro as I saw it and it was necessary as lung injuries occurred at work.
My problemsGod is healing me from, are having the soot of oats during combining about ruin my lungs, and I do not ever want to see an x ray of the scar tissue from pleurisy, so with allergies I feel like an elephant sits on my chest some days.
So with that, pet danger, rag weed, listening to wheezing at night like I was auditioning for a woodwind section, I broke down and took the Holy Ghost putting an idea into my head for an air purifier.
I was expecting not much, and then I ran into 700 plus dollar models, which I could starve in front of as I ate air. Then there were the lovely cheap ass ones, which you might as well just covered your head with a filter. As I looked around, thankfully I came across this Honeywell 50250 S.
See most purifiers you got these HEPA or small particle filters which are like 35 bucks and have to be replaced. Then the small filters which have to be replaced 4 times a year. Yeah it all adds up, and it starts making being cremated sound like the best option.
That is why I settled on the Honeywell. It has a lifetime (3 year filter in the instructions on the HEPA) and it was in the reviews on Amazon getting some good feedback. With coupons and things, the 160 dollar price with delivery was 50 bucks.
All 21 pounds of it arrived yesterday. I was expecting something about the size of a 10 pound bag of sugar. What arrived, with the selling point on the box of this being the #1 choice of physicians, was something large. It is about the size if you make a hoop with your arms in front of you or a little bigger.
We followed the instructions in putting the outside filter on, placed it off the floor a ways, and turned it on full power for 5 minutes.
It sort of ran not smoothly. I think there must be some wear in on these things, as when we left it on all night, it was running smooth by morning. It was like the power was increasing a bit and then slackening. It stopped so the new motor must have needed some running. Will see how it goes.
The thing I noticed though is on high, this thing blows like a jet engine. I kid you not, this things moves a huge volume of air. It moves a huge volume of air on low too. It was cool as I had the windows open earlier ,but has shut them and I had to put covers on, as it was blowing that much air around.
For the idiot, you do not operate this with the windows open as that defeats the purpose.
I could tell the difference in a about 10 minutes in it was easier to breathe. The air just seemed fresh. TL noted that you could tell in the next room that the air was moving, so it has a big push.
This is not something you will want in your media room as rich people have that as on high it is loud. Not jet engine loud, but on low it is about like central air coming out of the ducts in volume. I liked it for background noise in the bedroom, so that is not a problem.
On this limited experience, I believe as most people have closed homes, that this air purifier would be helpful with those who have allergies or lung conditions, as in reading about this air conditioner, it pulls particles out of the air which your lungs are stressing out filtering out.
As TL said, "It was as if I was wondering what I was going to do with all this other oxygen.".
Until the Lord provides us the land and the home we are going to build, this is what is the fill in, in this dust bin we are in.
I don't have any stake in Honeywell, I would that I did or would that I was paid for this review, but this is just an actual review and experience. This is like an air vacuum and that surprised me. I figure that it would air exchange most homes in around 5 hours. It will do a small bedroom in about a half hour.
Is more information than you had before, whether it is worthless or not.
