As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
I cringe at 12 movies on a disc as you know what you are getting, and that is what this series of movie reviews is about in the worst movies big name stars ever did, that no one wants on their own, and you are suckered to buying them as you think, there has to be something redeemable in that many movies.
This is about a movie without a name, The Russian Mechanik, The Russian Specialist........it is a Dolph Lundgren movie shot in Russia and is the same story line of all, in soldier's family gets hit by bad man, and soldier hunts down bad men, while doing a good deed.
What most impressed me about Dolf's directing, is he can not act, nor cast a movie, but he is really good at blood and brain splatter. In movies, people just die.......in Dolf's movies they do damage after being shot and they spurt and leak blood. Dolf is really a great special effects director. That seems to be his calling.......not looking gay riding around with Ben Cross looking like fag Daniel Day Lewis on the back of a Yamaha....which must have sponsored the movie.
Olivia Lee is the hot chic in the movie. She is hot, but Dolf must have had a great make up artist as she does not look that hot otherwise. She can't act, but she looks good.......about the only bright spot in a Russia that looks like the arm pit of England in being dreary and cold and miserable.
Bad guy did ok, but then his face was blown off, so you kind of do not have to act when you are that ugly. Lots of necessary action to cover up for all the failures, and Dolf has great meaty sound effects when extinguishing human life is necessary to make you know death is happening
This was a pretty good movie for a bad movie pack though. On the good movie scale I would give it a 6, on the bad movie pack scale, I would give this an 8. It certainly on the Svengoolie scale of bad horror movies, is better than that class.
If you do not pay too close attention, you can get by with watching this movie and appreciate things, like Dolf for some reason, probably because Bakail handed out guns to him, shoots everyone with an over and under Bakail. He is bad at it as it takes forever to reload in it must not have any auto ejectors.
It looked like most were shooting Beretta double stacks, as Dolf is a money magnet for big corporations looking to flash some cash for a big movie star.
There is another movie much later in The Mechanic, which is pretty good, about a point rating better in acting, but I think Dolf does better on the violence and tits and ass. He does have good taste in women, but again, he had a really good make up artist.
So while I really wanted to make fun of this movie to make it entertaining, the problem is Dolf made it pretty entertaining for a Russian movie with Dolf in it. The thing is this reminded me of Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns with Clinton Eastwood in the final showdowns of shoot outs.
Dolf though has no fun like Leone though in comic relief. It is more like listening to a meat grinder in Saddam Hussein's basement crushing up some dissident, than Arnold Schwatzenegger in his Terminator movies.
Any way, that is the review. Dolf Lundgren makes a pretty good Borsch Western. It did not get bogged down in the helpless rescue stuff and kids getting killed as no one cares about that bullshit, except faggots dragged by their hairy partners to action movies when they want to see some movie about Nathan Lane.
