Ambrosia Christmas Custard

One can always find another country,
but when it comes to custard there is not any second

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I am beginning to detest the internet as for recipes, it is getting to the point of one can not just look up a simple recipe, but it has to be some damn complicated thing like sending and anti grav to Mars.

I sort of bumbled across this recipe for Christmas Pumpkin Pie as that is what TL wanted. It was though like all recipes not what will work. It also was a case I  was too lazy to open a new pint of heavy cream or creme fresh, so I just went with 1 1/4 cups as it has to bake out anyway as it is moisture.
I had some leftover and that is what this is about is Lame  Cherry Pumpkin Custard. I baked this in a little corningware bowl I got out of the thrift store, and this was so spectacular that people who hate pumpkin will love this.

The recipe is.

    2 cups processed pumpkin pie
    2 eggs
1 cup packed dark or light brown sugar
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
    1 1/4 cup heavy cream

This takes over an hour to bake and do not be upset if like most souffle it collapses when it comes out of the oven, as this is pumpkin pie filling after all. If you serve this though at room temperature or slightly warmer, in a bowl with heavy cream, and I do mean heavy cream, you will discover something which one would mistake for ambrosia.

Hmmm, think I will call it that, Ambrosia Christmas Custard.

I have expected to hear George Washington coming out of his grave as it was that good and the President really liked pumpkin custards and after you have this, you will understand why.

Anyway that is it, simple recipe.
