In the Trinity, the Father is the Person, Jesus is the Thought of the Person, and in this dynamic creative being, there is their Presence, which is the Holy Ghost who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
The Holy Ghost is mentioned at the beginning of the foundations of the universe.
Genesis 1:2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The fact is the second action of God in the Elohim or family of the Trinity is the Holy Ghost moving upon the face of the waters. The more perfect translation is the Holy Ghost brooded over the waters. Brooding is the same as a bird setting on a clutch of eggs in bringing them to life. That is most interesting in something overlooked in Scripture is that the material universe was created, and it was lifeless to the very atoms. It was only after the action of the Holy Ghost imparting a life force to matter, that it came alive to bring forth the first significant extension of God in verse three, in Light.
This same reality occurred when God formed humans out of earth. God breathed into them life as the Holy Ghost brooded over matter, to make humans something more.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
From this point on, the Holy Ghost has had a mission of Sanctification, to set apart, to make free from rebellion from God.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
What does this mean? I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ.
This is most certainly true.
One of the greatest works ever was the Holy Ghost creating Jesus in the womb of a virgin, making the Word into a body, in order to begin the process of Redemption by the payment in death of the Lord Christ.
I Corinthian 2:10
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
The process of Creation in the Father, Redemption in Christ and Sanctification, all of which combined is Salvation, is in the final work of the Holy Ghost.
The Father issued the commands to form a process to save people from their failures. Jesus was that Command fulfilled in anyone who believes Christ death was payment for them, is Redeemed, once Redeemed though the process is not complete for humans are still an immortal soul which can be destroyed. A human must in their soul have sown into this bed the Seed of the eternal God. That Seed of Life is the Spirit of God Who transforms immortal to eternal Spirit as the Body of God is the Faithful.
Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The process is simple, Christ Redeems, but the person must be washed. That washing is Baptism outwardly a sign, that washing though away of the past is the beginning of the process of Regeneration, Once Regenerated, the human is Renewed to Life eternal.
Think of it this way in a human soul is purchased by Christ's death like an old car. The Holy Ghost takes that soul into the shop, washes it on the outside, and completes a custom rebuild, so that old worn our car, looks as good as the say it came off an auto showroom floor.
The final legal act is the Holy Ghost takes ownership of your title and places the Father's license on you, so that you are ready for the eternal road in Heaven.
It is all in the process of Faith which begins this in the hearing of the Word of God.
I Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I Corinthian 12:3
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Ephesians 2
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
The entire work of this Salvation is for a God Family, to return humanity to the place before the rebellion of Adam and Eve.
Every Christian is of the same image of Christ. So when St. Peter defines Christians as a Royal Priesthood, this is the Office of Christ. In this temporal, the United States and the Lost 10 Tribes of the West in the Israelites were blessed with immense fortunes and power, not to rule the world, but to establish throughout the world the Gospel. This was an immense Spiritual responsibility with the assistance of the Holy Ghost.
I Peter 2:9

The Faithful, the Redeemed, the Sanctified are the Spiritual Congregation, Communion of Saints, the Community of Spirits, the Spiritual Church, all One Body in the keeping the Holy Ghost in His Special Office.
Ephesians 2
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
There is a vast difference between buildings and pew setters who claim to be Christians.
John 8
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Unless a person is born of the Spirit, they can not enter into the Kingdom of God, for that Kingdom is Spiritual and this dimension's matter is a foreign corrupt substance there.
John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
I Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Be of Good Faith my children, for once you are born of the Spirit, regenerated and renewed, there is nothing but your will which in rejecting God which can ever remove this internal Gift God has given you. This is the Promise of God, and by it we are all created a new person in the family of God.
Romans 8
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is the Promise of Jesus the Christ in being His, nothing can ever take you from His possession ever again. This is most certainly True.
John 10
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
