Thee Lord's Prayer

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

Prayer like John Wayne revolvers are simple things and everyone thinks they are masters at it, until nothing hits the target and then the gun is blamed or God is blamed, when the responsibility is the one engaged in the action.

In this continued exploration of Protestant Martin Luther's instruction or Catechism for Christian teaching, we  enter into the Lord's Prayer in examining what prayer is. The Lord's Prayer is not some  "magic", but was offered by Jesus to the disciples to as an example of how to pray to God, because some people never prayed, they had no idea who God was, some did nothing but chant in public displays to be worshiped by the masses and everyone had lost the ability of a humble, simple form of communication with God, as that is all prayer is. Prayer is your speaking with God to activate Him, praise Him, acknowledge Him, ask of Him, thank Him and establish His Authority.

Psalm 10:17

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Matthew 6;7

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

There are foundations or conditions in prayer. The first it the First Commandment in you only serve God. The IRS does not stand for you buying toys first and them second, and God requires the same situation. You do not get to be out whoring with the world and then give God a few moments and expect God to jump for your demands.

Matthew 4:10

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Prayer is to a God Who does love you and in His Goodness desires to give you every Good thing. You must understand though that winning the lottery might destroy your life or give you a life hounded by beggars, so maybe sometimes your genius is one God will protect you from too.
God though promises that what you ask, you will receive. I desire you to notice something in the Bible verse of Psalm 50 in God promises if you call upon Him in trouble, that He will deliver you, but that you have a responsibility to Glorify Him.
Remember that in past prayers in how you forgot God and did not make known His actions to help build the Faith of others to have  them communicate with God.

Matthew 7

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Psalm 50:15

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.

God does not put limits on prayer as He owns the universe. He may protect you from receiving things which would destroy you or you would regret, and He may give you your desires to teach you a horrid lesson as He did to me, as I liked that temptation part in being a youth, but you can ask God for anything, and in keeping the belief you will receive, you open the route to you for what you prayed for.

I never doubt God hears me, because He always does.

Notice again in Philippians that asking God for things does include thanksgiving to God in that prayer too.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The more one prays with God, the more one becomes in tune with God on the frequency which is Spiritual, and in that benefit, one begins being moved by God to pray more astutely.

I Thessalonians  5:17

Pray without ceasing.

We come to the Lord's Prayer and His instruction, and continue on with the exploration of the Introduction, the 7 Petitions and Conclusion, for a prayer blueprint in praying. Do not be deceived because if you are in a car crash and scream God Help Me, God hears that prayer and acts too. What Christ was teaching was a proper respect, communication and praise of God for prayer.
One does not write a note on a piece of garbage and expect the person to not be offended. Jesus is offering stationary in etiquette, as this pleases God in formal address. In that, God also enjoys hearing you nattering on like a child too in telling Him about things, the way you enjoy a kitten praying.
All prayer has it's place.

Matthew 6: 9 - 13

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
