Pyongyang understands Americans and it sees that Iran is the next gambit for America, to cripple China by oil, as food shortages take hold in China. The dragon is dying and the North Koreans understand that without China, that their regime will end.
Therefore the correct response is to threaten the South, further stress the Coronavirus US military which deems Donald Trump a bigger threat than foreign enemies, and see how it sorts out, as North Korea has enough nuclear warheads to deal with a direct US response in an invasion. China will never allow an invasion, and with the thousands of North Korean artillery pieces, it will turn the South into a festering Coronavirus refugee camp no one will want to enter, save the North.
The North can withstand massive US bombing, as they already are staving off the American flotilla. The North will not be any worse off, and the United States does not have the manpower to deal with the North Korean military. This looks like a war that North Korea can win by attrition as the Americans have to face China..........America can face China or North Korea, but they can not face both.

SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- North Korea's military said Tuesday it is reviewing plans to reenter a border zone that was previously disarmed under an inter-Korean agreement."Our army is keeping a close watch on the current situation in which the north-south relations are turning worse and worse, and getting itself fully ready for providing a sure military guarantee to any external measures to be taken by the Party and government," the General Staff of the Korean People's Army said in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency."We will map out the military action plans for rapidly carrying out the said opinions to receive approval from the Party Central Military Commission," it added.The KPA is studying "an action plan for taking measures to make the army advance again into the zones that had been demilitarized under the north-south agreement, turn the front line into a fortress and further heighten the military vigilance against the south," it said.
