In the continuance of survival prep.
We are learning that rodents have preference.
They prefer to eat about any kind of wheat flour, cheap or expensive.
They will only eat expensive calf milk replacer. They leave the cheaper brands without a chew.
They love cheese, makes a great bait for a trap.
The love powdered eggs.
Not any activity with beans.
I have found they like cheap ass Indian white rice. Not the Jasmine or other rices.
The short of this is, you are going to need large plastic barrels, or expensive plastic containers, trash cans or what we obtain for free in old freezer which quit working. Honestly they are not just for chicken feed.
So if the mice are choosing certain things, it must mean there is food value in them. Can not figure the white rice, but that was their choice after wheat flour.
You will need lots of food storage..........oh and I do have trouble with oats in seed form, not much with wheat berries. Coons will rip oat bags open. Got to get things stored and freezers are the cheapest route.
Post Script: You have to be careful with freezers as they get tossed after the food rots in them or people die. They stink like death and it takes months for them to air out. You do not want that kind of stench on you food.
