We were pondering the questions of God in choices and destiny and I wanted to share this to assist my children and my brats with some answers in this. I'm always stunned by things the Holy Ghost explains as I never considered the first 3 sons of God, would appear in echo in the disciples of Peter, Judas and John.
Just things to contemplate in a mid conversation segment shared here.
Judas is a good example to relate as his character was forming as most of the disciples in looking for an earthly king who would give them power and money. That is what broke Judas is when Jesus told them, "I'm going to die. No thrones for you". Judas deemed that a betrayal of his dreams, satan entered, and Judas fulfilled the purpose he was born for. He was a persona of substance, meaning money, power, position, status, to save oneself. That is why he committed suicide. He could not seek forgiveness as Mercy and Grace do not exist in a world where money and authority dictate outcomes.
In the exact polar opposite is the disciple I love to loathe as he is the one most of us are in Peter. We jump in the water, we get our weapon and chop off ears, we are tough SOB's and then comes the part where our ass is in danger, and then we are cursing Jesus in never knowing Him. Peter though when Christ looked at him, letting Peter know He knew what he did as Jesus knew it would happen in betrayal, went out and wept. It was the line of, "Get away from me Lord, for I am a sinner", in knowing there is nothing we can do to save ourselves, and it all has to come from Faith that Jesus will make things rights. It just occurs to me and I might copy and paste this as a lesson, that of the first 3 sons, Abel, Cain and Seth, Abel is Peter, Judas is Cain in thinking God owed him things, and Seth is John, the one who did not run away to save his life, did not deny Christ and was the character of the disciple that Jesus loved, or would not deny before God and Angels, because John did not deny Christ.
Gideon is another perfect example, he was a success at earthly deliverance, but was a disaster in Spiritual deliverance. He delivered the people and then took the gold and made an ephod, and like the Golden Calf of Dan, it became a snare to the people in they started worshipping it, instead of God, like the pretty things of the catholics. Even what are failures, God will teach with them as He designs. He hid Moses body because that would have become an idol. If you look through the old footage when Ayatollah Khomeini died in Iran, the mob about tore that body apart as he was so revered as people who have no relationship with God cling to what they deem others have in God.
God is Perfect. He knowingly built a Plan which had a creature full of beauty and wisdom (not all knowing) who would develop vanity, and go nuts when it discovered it was not top rung, that God has these creatures that looked like Him that He was going to make Sons of God. We were created a little lower than Angels, but our chosen destiny is to be as Gods in God. Without failure, there is no need of redemption, no need of God. After the failures of Adam and Eve, the failure of the flood, the failure of Babel, there came the failure of the First Covenant which in physical training people could not keep. It produced a DNA strain which God would sow His Spirit into, but it first required Jesus, the Son of God, to make amends in being put into a human form so He could die, as death for death is the law. The Law convicted all to sin, but Christ in being the fulfillment of the Law established the Gospel of Mercy and Grace, Perfect Love and Redemption which only God could establish. That is what these deniers in Islam and Jewry fail at as much as the Vatican, in God completed the plan in Christ, trying to make it into your own way of doing things, is no different than Judas as this only works with Christ.
