Beer Battles

I don't give one whit about niggers, Jeff Davis, old Abe or the Union,
but when it comes to beer, I will fight for your right to protect our kegs.

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

The comedy in the horror of war is more pronounced when it happens. Below you find the story of a Dutchman in command of a blockhouse who swore to General Forrest he would never surrender. I will let the story unfold as Nathan Bedford Forrest had a most wry sense of humor. This comes on the tail or tales of his forcing the surrender of Union Fort at Athens Georgia, by convincing the commander that he had thousands of troops.........which were just his people moving around from different locations as a ruse.

The German appears to have been more interested in protecting a large store of beer he had, rather than the Union.
