As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
The 3rd Commandment is one which is the Spiritual side of the Commandments of the mysteries, as God does not allow in the First in having other forms empowered by worship which destroys His children Spiritually. The Second is the same reinforcement in not creating idols to empower which brings about self destruction.
The 3rd is a warning on the activation of the Spiritual realm in using God's Name incorrectly. To use God's Name is the same if someone calls to you. It brings an immediate response from you. With God this is even more immense as He is the Power.
God promises that He is already moving before you ask. Think about that literally like a damn bursting forth in a wave of water coming. That is what takes place when you call upon God in need or want. It becomes even more complicated when you call on God in inappropriate settings.
What do you think happens when you are fornicating and God is activated? Do you really want God actively moving with His Authority in your sins? What about saying Goddamn? You have just in fury or in jest unleashed God into a situation where God is looking to condemn, and when God discovers nothing to condemn, who do you think God is going to be looking at for calling on Him?
The Third Commandment Thou shalt not take the name of your Lord God in vain. Q. What does this mean? A. We must fear and love God, so that we will not use His name to curse, swear, cast a spell, lie or deceive, but will use it to call upon Him, pray to Him, praise Him and thank Him in all times of trouble.
You have an expectation with your name to have it treated with respect and not misused. God has the same requirement. Would you appreciate having your name uttered in crimes, in perversions or in mocking? God is the same in this, and once again remember that God's Name activates Him with all of His Power. His Name is a special gift to people, because when you use that Name, God begins a power surge for the issue which you are focused on, to completing it for you.
Misuse of God's Name is blasphemy and brings God's rightful wrath as a reckoning. You try tracking dirt into a store and you will have the police called on you. You track dirt on God's Name and His retribution will be returned on you.
Great things happen when the Name of the Lord is activated. Understand for those who think they "lower themselves and demand God do something to prove things" that when nothing happens in this circus act of God on a string, they move along claiming God does not exist.
Solomon upon finishing the Temple, gathered all Israel, sacrificed thousands of animals, there were singers and instruments, and when Solomon called on the Name of the Lord, the Glory of the Lord manifested in so much smoke that it filled the Temple.
II Chronicles 7:1
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
God's Name is One to fear, and is why swearing by His Name brings a penalty or a blessing. It is why oaths taken on His Word are especially involved in invoking Him, into the success of Government or the Justice of a Court. Those who bring in other names or religions are condemning themselves for they have removed God in His Honored State.
Deuteronomy 6:13
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
There is a constant in all of this. It is worthless to establish the rules of men's failing knowledge when the Name of the Lord is the solution.
Matthew 15:9
In vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
The Name of the Lord is the gift of God for your devout ministration to promote the Glory and Honor of the Lord. Do not take that Name in vain, but use that Name wisely, for that Name is the solution for all your wants, needs and desires.
Psalm 50:15
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.
Psalm 103:1
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy Name.
Psalm 118:1
O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: because His mercy endureth for ever.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
