Donald Trump as President failed in his address on protecting America with a border wall. This crafted statement sounded too Miller and Kushner, with Mike Pence writing lines to help President Pence 2020 in booting Donald Trump from the ticket.
Donald Trump needed to be President in stating he would protect America as President. He played into Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer's hands who played their hand perfectly, even looking like zombies, but the message is what resonated with their voters.
The fact is, that Donald Trump attempted to be Ronald Reagan in having his voters rally to phone up Congress and force them to comply to the Trump wall. That would only work if President Trump had not broken trust with Americans over Obamacare, taxes, gun control and not legalizing Obama's illegals by John Kelly......and not having John Kelly destroy Christian Roy Moore in Alabama.
In that, President Trump needed to take charge and prove he could be trusted in building the wall. Instead he hid behind his voter, played into Pelosi and Schumer's hands, and punted the issue.
This is not what Donald Trump needed to send as a message. Hiding behind voters he wants to do the fighting in calling up Congress is not being President.
This is not a Republican President. When you have Major Garrett at CBS stating that this emergency is not an emergency enough to declare an emergency, and all Donald Trump will do is talk about it.
This is not Teddy Roosevelt in leading. This is not Ronald Reagan in establishing a camaraderie with his voters to support him. This is not an Abraham Lincoln establishing an American moral high ground where he will command federal troops to keep America secure.
This is Donald Trump, a New York valued patrician, who alienated Americans for two years, and is now expecting them to fight for his keeping his word.
This is Jimmy Carter looking to blame Americans for his failure. This is Lyndon Johnson under siege at the White House. This is Barack Obama in his worst diatribe form. This is the failure of Donald Trump.
