In reading the Election of 1864 by a Mr. Waugh, I am wondering why Abraham Lincoln always got so much good press in being Honest Abe.
Abraham Lincoln was one of the most devious politicians to ever be in the White House. He ranks down there with Franklin Roosevelt, Bill and Hillary Clinton and that fraud Birther Hussein Obama.
Lincoln took electioneering to new lows.
He confiscated a portion of federal workers salaries for his campaign.
He sent Soldiers home to get their votes counted and set up polling places for Soldiers in the field. This was the first time in America this was tried.
He removed officers who attended the Democratic nomination in Chicago. He sent officers home to campaign for him. He deployed to New York the Beast Butler who beat up women in New Orleans and hung Confederates who abused the flag to crack down on New York City.
Lincoln made certain that only his people got government jobs to lobby for him in all the states.
He destroyed Montegomery Blair for the radicals who was the Postal Inspector.
He chose to the last man, speakers and organizers in all the states.
He began readmitting Confederate states if 15% of the voters claimed allegiance to America.
He arrested political protesters who wanted peace with the South.
Lincoln removed his loyal Vice President Hannibal Hammel for a democrat military governor in Andrew Johnson who was for the war. He did this by nominating enough candidates to thwart his Vice President, and then swung the vote to Johnson.
He bribed politicians to take over meetings where people against Lincoln were challenging his nomination.
Abraham Lincoln was not just crooked, he was maniacally crooked. Somehow in Lincoln's darkest moments as his opponents wanted him off the ticket, his entrenched military suddenly sprang to life in Mobile Bay, outside Atlanta and in the Shenandoah, where Phil Sheridan burned everything down, to notch Lincoln war victories for the election canvas.
Abraham Lincoln should get full credit for stealing the election or having it stolen for him by money interests as in 1860 which began the Civil War, as he honestly was a master at political swindles. It is just the dirtiest of the filth though, in there was nothing patriotic nor honest about any of it.
For the record, Abraham Lincoln's "landslide" was in the electoral college. He barely broke even in the popular vote, and if 100,000 votes in key states had changed, the Democrats for peace would have won.
Many have spread the propaganda that Lincoln saved the Union, but the fact is he destroyed the 10th Amendment and several others in the rights retained by the States. Lincoln called America "till death do us part" instead of peaceful separation. Abraham Lincoln literally was a man whose wife in the South had her own lands, was the political power governing a peaceful nation, expanding west, and when the New England money interests did not like being out voted, they chose slavery as the issue to enslave the South, mandating the genocide of the Southern aristocracy. A mirror image is now in America for the coming genocide of the American upper, lower and middle classes for these Visa Vermin of Obama and Trump now legalized to disenfranchise their Protestant voting block.
In 1864 that disenfranchisement succeeded and for 10 years the South was a corpse occupied by Federal masters, with less rights than King George gave the colonies.
That is why until Ronald Reagan, that the South hated Republicans as they created the Southern Slave Plantation for the Remnant.
