What a Friend we have in Jesus

1  The Lord is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth. 2  Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I never want any Christian to ever forget that your God is One Who never forgets harm which is done to you. He does not let people get away with things that hurt you, whether you know it or not.

God is a God or reckoning, settling accounts, and the way God measures things, is always multiplying. When you are good, God multiplies the good in favor, empowerment, Spiritual and earthly wealth. When someone is evil, God multiplies that in the evil comes back upon that wicked person.
When God says, that He personally visits His wrath upon those who hate Him, meaning those who do not honor Him by keeping His Commandments, to the 3rd and 4th generations, it means God does not visit or punish to the 5th generation, because they are all dead and in hell.

God is thorough.

Read the Promise as Inspired by the Holy Ghost, in God Himself, that God brings, God is the action in this, God brings a sinful person's own immorality upon themselves, amplifies it, so it consumes them. Without God, they descend into worse sins, and are seared in their souls and minds. Understand that this kind of searing is a blindness, and arrogance, that they can not be touched, and that drives them to greater exposures which in natural odds, obliterates them like walking in a mine field.

Notice in verse 23, that it is repeated that GOD SHALL CUT THEM OFF. Whenever that takes place in the Bible or in German languages that is added emphasis of CERTAINTY. God will cut off the wicked and they will not survive.

Psalm 94

21  They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. 22  But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. 23  And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

God avenges. God cuts off. I know in my life, avenging me has taken far too long on my accounts, but there is not a time that God has not acted, even though it takes too long. In one example, a heinous person who hated me, was smiling at me before they died, and to add to this, his wife and daughters have become my greatest supporters.
This is a nice gift from God. It is an asset. He knew best and it is of course not every case for everyone, but God has his purposes and I'm not going to question them. Yes I get sullen, get angry, let God know about things, but He is Faithful and He will never let anyone who has put their trust in Him down.

Would I prefer God dropping people dead almost immediately as He has acted for me? Sure I would, but in those cases, the account was settled and I got not any benefit from it. From my experience, when God is working things out in the long game, you are going to have benefits one day which will amaze you.

Sometimes I can not wait for Joy in God avenging me, as it is like Christmas. I do not dance on the graves of dead, but I do joyfully sing my appreciation to God in His vengeance.

Romans 12:19   (Read all of Romans 12)

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

That is one of the laws of this world. Everything multiplies. It is not an opposite and equal reaction, but an amplified reaction which comes back upon the person, when it is the will of light. Do good and good returns. Do evil and evil returns. Good makes life better. Evil ends life.

Do not hamper God in praying stupidly, like, "I want him to feel what he put me through". That is going to happen in Judgment, instead pray for God to avenge you, so that you will be satiated and well pleased with the sentence.
It is good to pray with emotion, but also remember to pray thoughtfully, sincerely and respectfully, in asking the Holy Ghost for help in expressing yourself for activating God in avenging you. I'm not saying rehearse or have high drama, but just come to God well thought out, as you would any judge, and God has place for reasoned prayers, not to cajole Him into doing things, but appearing before Him as someone in self control and expecting results from God.

Always remember what a Friend we have in Jesus.

  1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
  2. Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
  3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
  4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
    Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
    Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
    Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
