Death Trap Spyder 550

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I ran across this story of the 550 Spyder, the car which James Dean killed himself in, in a head on collision with a Ford. This car and it's parts went on to kill and injure a number of people.

Here is the synopsis of the story.

George Barris, the man who originally customised the 550, bought the wrecked carcass of “Little Bastard” for $2,500 and soon after, it slipped off its trailer and broke a mechanics leg.

Slipped of Trailer - Broke Mechanics leg

Engine and drive train sold - Killed the driver - Seriously injured another driver.

Two tires sold, both blew out at the same time, driver crashed.

Car lent to California Highway Patrol. Garage burned to the ground - car was unharmed.

Car fell of trailer and broke student's hip at CHiPS Safety event.

The car was transported, fell off the trailer and crushed the trucker.

The CHiPs had enough of their accident display and the car disappeared.

Rumor has it a New York mobster has the wrecked 550 Spyder hidden away.

I never saw anything in James Dean. He was like Marlon Brando. Nothing to get excited over when real stars like John Wayne or Raquel Welch were around.
