I enjoy hearing from the American Geniuses out there, as in living their lives, they provide insights which I deeply appreciate. I appreciate that the Viking got himself a female lawyer, like my brother did, and she was top notch. Nothing is more born to birthing or being a lawyer than a woman. They know how a woman thinks and that is 99% of the battle.

My brother got his house back, then sold it back to his wife so she was making the payments on it. Women attorneys get things done.

Bob shared some things which I wanted to share, as we are under a winter weather advisory. As long as your roof is not leaking I will take rain every day, and as long as it is not an ice storm.

I'm still waiting for the day to light up the cellar behemoth in the egg stage. I still have to build the rammed earth part and the perlite, but Bob's design is valid, as you can not believe what a little flame does.

For Christmas I figured half a bag of charcoal in the junk yard grill would get her done. Yeah the beast ran at 450 degrees with the vents closed, and ran at 650 when I was checking on things, opened the vent to cool off and my applewood went to six inch flames. The old cook stoves had little fireboxes too and no one ever touching one ever said the stove was cold.

My fire chamber is a steel barrel kit, which  with a grinder was kind of craftsy fun as a grinder is the puddy knife of the metal sculptor. It all fits in the only problem really was how hard stainless steel pipe is, and wicked one had an elbow which was not 90 degrees so nothing fit. Got a 90 degree elbow and it all went together the first time.

I still have the truck hubs which I will weld together. JYP upset me in he had a deluxe wood stove, pretty as a blessing and he smashed it. So I got the door with vents in it for the hub stove. That mother is going to put out the BTU's which I hope is in our place, as I hope to make it pretty with a open guard of some kind. Just have to remember in all these wood stoves that you don't fill them up, as the neighbor told me he warped his stove by filling it up. You don't need a forest fire in your stove to produce heat.
The propane furnace of Richard and Stephanie has a 2.5 feet burner, yes is propane blue flame, but  that puts out like 65,000 BTU without trying. Picture a log that long and on fire, and you  get the same output even with an orange flame. So you do not need 5 logs burning, producing 350,000 BTU's.

I was a bit upset, but I had to build the burn chamber anyway, but saw a picture of a metal stove and the guy had like 500 pounds of bricks on top for thermal mass. Yes the Keep It Simple Stupid does work too and I may have opted for that, but I was too pressed for time and all these online geniuses were going for the rock perlite version, so am still moving in that direction once it thaws here enough to make it a pleasant idea working on things again.

back when decades ago, built a heat treating furnace

didnt have much money

used old chimney flue liners-they're almost as good as fire brick and cheap. if you can find someone doing a remodel-free

picked up fireplace cement from the hardware store

pearlite from gardening (or was it vermiculite then?)

built an outer "box" of regular old bricks we had for free

built the fire box with the flue liners backed by several inches (3?) of the fire cement/mixed with the pearl. the hole was about 8in round by 4ft long. small for wood burning but the idea is the same

the rest of the box was filled with loose pearl, no cement. through in some pieces of liners, rocks, what have you to save on pearl, not too much mind you- about 6inches of fill on top, bottom, sides

used a forced air propane blower

furnace ran about 2,300F

liners cracked in a few places over the years, slapped some cement on the cracks and kept on going

lasted for years

went to the Stop the Steal rally in DC in November. it was an amazing uplifting event

over a hundred thousand people. i've been to events at the metro sports thing. i've seen what crowds look like.

Prayers. Group singing. imagine thousands of peep saying the pledge of allegiance without the slightest bit of irony. Flags flying

did you know the pillow guy is a really good speaker?

it was an amazingly good time.

Trump drove by early before the crowds had gotten big. wife got so excited she ran after his car as it drove passed. and this from some one who originally wasn't even going to vote in 2016 pict attached

it makes me so angry when the leftists screech racist. the rally had hundreds of black people, asians, and misc. pict attached. black woman walking past asians all were welcome and glad they were there

there were several lefty protesters mixed in the crowd. they were very quiet and respectful and just stood around holding little signs. no one i saw gave them any trouble

as the crowd moved off to the SCOTUS, the rally people were kept off the grounds by a low barricade. HOWEVER as antifa arrived, the police allowed them to walk around the barricades and right up to the front on the steps to the SCOTUS where they could heckle the speakers pict attached

 

 

 

 

after the covid, i was out walking looked over and saw a bald eagle. in these parts they exist, but its a rare sight, maybe once a year or so

the wind was blowing hard and the eagle was flapping its wings, but because of the wind it was completely stationary in the air.

after so much time, the bird realized it wasnt going anywhere, so it changed course and flew diagonal at the wind like how a sail boat can do. by zig zagging back and forth like that the eagle made its way forward and out of sight

I thought it an amazing sign. but then again, looking for signs without Gods guidance is asking for trouble, but it made me feel much better

 

 

 Sorry for the delay which you did not know about as I was getting Bob's pictures, and of course the wise asses who monitor me frequently pop to the next tab in loading that as I try to download pictures or upload pictures.

Well that only took 10 minutes which included pasting them to the desktop as the file would not be recognized by Blogger.

I wanted to mention the signs thing, as Bob wrote this and we went over to check on our hoped for place in a snowstorm and I pointed out to TL that an eagle flew out of the trees on what was traditionally where my Grandparents lived but someone else owned it, and when we got by the place another eagle swooped down out of the trees and filled our windshield. Yes it was only about 15 feet away.

We have lots of eagles here. Not fond of them as they are like most Americans in will go to any extent to win or get a victory. Is great for people who are on the right side, but it sucks in animals which steal food from others and eat the young. In that they are the persona of what America should be in Trump and what America has degraded to in Biden.

TL said it was a good sign, and I agreed, as it would be stupid to call it a bad sign.

I would implore the President again to not lose this as  he is the winner as too many people have their necks on the line, have no place else to go as they are impoverished, and no matter how much I implore them to behave, people who have nothing left will begin acting out. They no longer by design believe in the courts, the media or political process. They are an untameable tempest who will only respond to President Trump and will do whatever he says to secure this victory. If the President does not secure his second term in 2021 AD in the year of our Lord, the reality is, that this Obama Bush canker is going to spread and rot this cadaver and be a worse biological weapon than Coronavirus ever was or would be.

Logic  and humanity for the President to save lives and preserve the rule of law, is that he remains President at the small costs in the present, because the future holds the deaths of hundreds of millions and billions globally.
