It was in Byrne's revelations in his contact with this Russian woman, which caught my attention, in what she was focused about. I will highlight what caught my attention.

Byrne figured out that Obama had weaponized the FBI to set up a Russian ruse to spring on Republicans, Maria Butina was the focus.
The BLOCK CHAIN BASED GOVERNANCE AND WHAT THAT FINANCIAL SYSTEM MIGHT LOOK LIKE, is key in this. The Russians were forging Lincolnesque closeness with Americans on the Right, and the Russians were interested in what an American financial guru in Patrick Byrne via Milton Friedman had insights to moving from the Dutch Anglo American finance of cash and fractal lending, into a digital currency as Bitcoin.
The Russians were looking for information on Bitcoin digital currencies in what was being plotted. Obama with Comey were setting the Russians up, along with Hillary or Trump to blackmail them in whoever entered the White House.

As the framing of Donald Trump was in full action in early 2016, with Bush fam losing with Jeb, the Obama regime was running an operation with Peter Strzok and Stefan Halper in London to frame Donald Trump and his associates on Russian contacts, while Maria Butina was focused on not just American contacts, but bringing Patrick Byrne to St. Petersburg to forge a link with the Ministry of Finance on the subject of Bitcoin and Liberalism, (Libertarianism).
The Russians were so interested that this was scheduled to Patrick Byrne would meet Vladimir Putin. There was something that Butina said at the beginning of her contacts with Byrne which resonate here. Butina said she was close to the Oligarchs. They were not disloyal to Vladimir Putin, but were preparing for a post Putin era, and Butina was considered to be in the running for the Russian Presidency.
If you read between the lines, Russia was building connections in both political wings to influence in the present, while the Oligarchs were moving to a post Putin Russia, which was already prepared for digital currencies and was reforming to American Libertarianism.
Around the end of March, 2016, Maria called me excitedly: there was an upcoming conference in St. Petersburg, Russia, just weeks away. It was major, being hosted by the Ministry of Finance (or something similarly grand). She had made arrangements for me to have a key speaking slot, on the subject of Bitcoin and Liberalism. I would speak, and then since President Putin was in St. Petersburg the same day (he may have been speaking at the same conference), it had been scheduled that I would have 60 minutes alone with President Putin (with Maria as translator).
Do you comprehend what Byrne has inadvertently revealed and what Butina was revealing? The post Putin leadership was going to be American, a sort of capitalism in a hands off Yankee trading, which with Russia's natural resources could contend with Anglo American finance and Franco German Peking finance.

Put it this way, Russia was moving to digital currencies to install liberty, but those behind the Russiagate were moving to digital currencies to control the world.
It is only facet of all of the intrigue which has been involved in the enigma, but it expands the horizons of this, beyond the pawns like Clinton and Trump.
