I was reading an almost unknown account of an event during World War II in Hawaii............
That is what has me typing this as it makes no difference to me in how important the person or if they are of other beliefs, I will not tolerate anyone being treated unfair, as I have had that shit all my existence here.
John Wayne in World War II, tried to join the military, but was denied because of his age. He was relegated to the propaganda wing of America like Ronald Reagan and others. When the war was over, John Ford once again was directing John Wayne, but Ford had to be an asshole to Wayne on the set for not having served in the military, while another veteran was on set who Ford was performing for.
Finally the veteran having had enough of it, told Ford, "I know why you are doing it. Knock it off".
That ended Ford theater.
What took place in Hawaii was John Wayne being sent out by the studios after starring in the Sands of Iwo Jima to cheer up wounded Marines from Okinawa. Wayne was in costume, of cowboy and spurs, and walked in and said, "Hi ya Guys".
He was met with dead silence.
Then one asshole Marine booed John Wayne. Soon they were all booing John Wayne.
That was unfair and it was inexcusable. I don't give a fuck if you were on Okinawa being ordered by the Army and Marines to charge up Japanese defenses which were the best in the world, anywhere at that time.
Those Soldiers were shot to shit. The kill and wounding rates was horrendous. Once the wet season started in May, the entire island was knee deep in shit, piss and rotting corpses. The entire island stunk like this and seeing maggots crawling out of bloated bodies was constant as seeing humans with faces shot off, guts hanging out and limbs blown off.
It was absolute terror and literal insanity. Those Americans should never have been sent into that mauling, Military intelligence failed. Military planning failed as American firepower did nothing to break Japanese positions honeycombed into those hills, which created the slaughter zone.
Ernie Pyle, the American propagandist in Europe appeared in the Pacific. Pyle thought the real war was in Europe. He filed his rose coloured reports like all media, because if he told the truth, he would not be published. He decided to visit a little island off Okinawa that had been taken. While riding in a jeep a Japanese machine gun opened up and put a brain in his temple.
Marines put up a memorial for Ernie Pyle whose propaganda was getting kids killed with incompetent leadership in politics and military.
When President Frank Roosevelt died. Once again Marines wept. Marines wept for a leader who abandoned Soldiers in the Pacific, had allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor to take place to have American enter the war with on the deaths of 4000 Navy personnel in Hawaii.
Ernie Pyle got memorials. Frank Roosevelt got tears from Marine saps who were being slaughtered by this duo, but it was John Wayne who ends up being booed by these assholes.
In real world, John Wayne should have shot the son of a bitch who started the booing and then pistol whipped the rest of them. John Wayne did not have to risk his life going to Hawaii. He did it out of duty. That was bullshit the way he was mistreated who got their Goddamn Shylock coin for volunteering for Frank Roosevelt's war, were getting free medical care and then sold their souls and America with it in the bribe of the GI Bill which made them all comfortable as Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson finished off America with socialism, the same Goddamn socialism that Adolf Hitler had implemented in Germany.

John Wayne had to put up with too much shit in his life being an American. Those pissant shitheads in the Vietnam War bitched about him just like those fuckheads in Hawaii did. He is still having his honor besmerched in shit like Jeff Bridges hateful remake of True Grit in a disgusting portrayal of Americans.
It did not help in Deserter Donald Trump used the Wayne family to convince Conservatives that he was not a New York Republican. John Wayne deserved a hell of allot better than what America put him through.
For that the Lame Cherry apologizes to Mr. Wayne and asks why all these heroes are alive, having no patriotism in having sold out America for their 30 pieces, but wear those Goddamn little blue baseball caps saying how much they served America and now demanding to be thanked for it.
I'm through thanking that shit as I want to know why they are still alive after swearing an oath to protect America, as America was murdered on their watch.
John Wayne died for America. America put his film on the site of a nuclear blast and he had cancer twice, his son got cancer, Susan Hayward died of cancer from that movie as did others. John Wayne is one up on the veterans.
