The Better than Cherry

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I never splurge.

I realize that for the rich splurging is a bottle of wine that normal people could eat off of in food for a week, but for me splurging is getting something I need that I do without as I'm poor.

This is the saga of the barrel stove in this HAARP doing whatever it does to the atmosphere
, I was not getting draft up the chimney like last year, and yes Nancy I checked the chimney for blockage.

So Nancy, here is the thing. I had by God's Grace invented the Lame Cherry torch and it worked very well last year. This year it was like someone was blowing down the chimney as I did get backdrafts at times too and breathing soil oil burned ink and whatever shit is recycled paper is not probably the best, so the Holy Ghost to modify a plumber's stove, which is just a tin can with cotton balls and alcohol for fuel.

This worked really well, but it took a bit of time. It also likes 20ish degree weather, rather than 20 below weather to get draft started, so I had a few smoke moments, as I made the plumbers out of necessity, as it was 20 below, and I was waiting for a 12 day shipment from Walmart which was then the cheapest and most effective solution the Holy Ghost put into my brain to solve this problem.

It is a propane weed burner. Now they come with those disposable cans, but what the hell good is that but wasting money eh. So I wanted one that would fit on a 20 gallon propane tank as I was not going to drag that thing around burning weeds. I mean what kind of a tard do you have to be to drag around a propane cylinder burning off weeds. Yes put it on wheels, but I just do not see it as cost effective when 24D, table salt or whatever is a better solution, and that includes Round Up ready to kill all that moves.

So the Chinaman torch came. What else does Walmart sell but that shit. I did not know that when I ordered it, but as Mr. Heaters were like 100 bucks I was not going that route.

It is cheap like all things China. The screw in on the tank looks like the weakest link. Next is the cheap ass hose which is plastic, and I'm glad I did not break it in the cold as I left it outside to try it.

The other stuff is a bit better, not the valve though as it is not that great.

Ok if my eyes could see as they have not done well in doing this blog and staring at screens, I think the few sentences of instructions were, Turn the tank valve on one turn. Turn the burner valve on 1/8th turn and light it.

OK it would not light outside even if I had gas I could hear with the striker they sent so I used a grill lighter.

I was not impressed with the pilot light flame outside, but I had a real torch when I opened the booster valve. That is like a jet engine and why they say this thing does 500,000 BTU's.

I looked at this thing and thought, "OK if I use that booster I'm going to blow soot to hell and back out of that stove on me", but as this is all I had.......TL said TL was excited about trying it......me not so much, so we went to the cellar on a snow storm afternoon and fired it up.

First, I got the thing lit with the charcoal starter lighter. Next, inside I had pretty good flame coming out and under pressure. That pleased me as that meant I probably would not have to use the blow torch which would be too much.

So with TL monitoring the chimney heating, I sat there holding the thing up the chimney flue for 10 minutes, and decided it was time to breathe smoke or Holy Angels to help out and get this thing going.

We lit it up on the small scale. I try not to put some much paper in as it does not burn, it combusts and expands smoke out the chimney and back out of the stove. It worked wonderfully well and I was most thankful to God for this most economical solution in which I od not have to run this under high pressure.

Alcohol is 12 bucks a gallon. Propane while not cheap, is 1.60 a gallon on these portable tanks. The grocery last year was filling for 15 bucks in Blue Rhino, not this year as there scheme is booze to warm people up.

I'm never in God's Grace going to use this thing to burn weeds. Maybe I could see using it in the garden if I built wheels for the tank, but 500,000 BTU's just does not stay in a confined area. I hopefully will never use it for thawing things either as that just seems like a fire hazard.

For this though, just running the pilot light.........yeah it is enough heat and pressure for what I need. I'm sure I could build something about half as cheap, but I did not have the time.

Beloved Uncle actually has one, homemade that I go in the inheritance with a 100 gallon tank. Too big and that thing makes the Chinaman look small dicked as that really whips out an across the country flame

I have no idea if anyone would ever use this, as my situation of 20 plus feet of semi vertical 8 inch pipe before it hits the chimney is unique. I'm most thankful to God that the Holy Ghost provided the solution, so we do not have smoke, do not have to open windows to waste heat and 2 hours of heating time, and can just light this, do the double burn feed and the house starts becoming Stephanie Balmy in those two hours which is the reason we do this.

I'm only guessing on the propane saved in the Richard and Stephanie furnace, but at 1.60 and only a 150 gallon fill, it probably means we saved 150 gallons from Christmas to January 10th as it was hyper cold. lots of snow and even more wind. Once this shack with it's plaster walls gets cold it stays cold and the furnace just keeps cycling on and off. With this wood, and yes we did burn allot of wood, almost a two month supply in that period, the furnace maybe runs 20 minutes and then is off for 90 in the worst of weather. Last year TL timed it before we got this more figured out by God, and it would run 45 minutes and then be on about 45 minutes later and the house still felt cold, because the cold was coming up out of the ground and through the walls as cold creeps and seeps.

That is how we thank God saved 240 bucks.

Factor in a little propane tank and this burner to make things non heat wasting, and the bigger items like chainsaws, cutting wood, belt pulley, this is proving a paying proposition where we are gaining the returns we hoped for.

JYG saved us a great deal in recycled supplies. We still spent quite a bit on the chimney, concrete and other things at around 1200 bucks, last year, but that is not a continuous cost like burning propane or natural gas. Lord willing we are going to take a big chunk out of all the accumulated expenses this year.

Next year, we should break even or gain funds, as we only returned about 100 dollars in heating cost reductions last year in our refund, even  though we got a great deal back on our prepay for the propane which makes it cheaper.

I would never primary heat with wood.  I have no idea what other people use and have for furnaces, but what we have would just have you down there every hour feeding the thing and that would burn up too much wood. Auxiliary wood or coal is the best solution in high energy spikes in this fake Goddamn green shit which is polluting the planet.

I'm not an idiot. I have experience with wood from childhood, but for you people who have not been familiarizing yourself with this stuff, going in cold turkey is going to have you frustrated, as this is entire science in dealing with all of this. Wood fires just do not happen. There is a reason one tends the fire, because they do need tending like a kid.

I can now by God's Grace, use this stove more selective, as in tonight it is 20 degrees, supposed to drop to 3 below, so in the wind storm, we can heat the house, and the furnace will not work hard. We can keep the house pre warmed for when cold snaps come, and again, the furnace is not going to be burning propane in quantity.

Our wood is free as our trees have lots of downed timber in them. The wind just snapped off a big box elder which is going to end up in the wood pile, after I go through our main grove and cut up the other big trees like ash which went down two years ago. I prefer trees losing their bark as that wood is seasoned and burns better than wood with bark on it. Engaged in a recycling process and as my Grandpas place has trees which need to come down and some widowmakers,  we are in a position for a number of years.

I do drive by and check out other people's shelter belts and am going to request to clean up some of them too, but would need a shed as there are piles of wood in some of them just going to rot in a few more years.

I cringe at the number of people who do  not even have a chimney in their homes like my asshole sisters. Turn the propane, the electric or natural gas off and they will freeze. It is stupid and without sense to have built homes and not put a chimney at least in the garage. Old Steve said to us the other day, "I took out a wood burner and was going to sell it to my friend and I thought the way this country is going, I better keep it".

Yeah very good sense there and if JYG blunders upon another manufactured stove, I'm going to purchase that too.  I would be on Craigslist but no way to haul things now and people are charging too much for things. That weed burner was 47 bucks when I got it. In writing this, it went to 55 in a few weeks.

You ain't seen nothing yet and I'm telling you to get ready and prepare more. You do not want to get hit by the things coming and not have any experience as to how in the hell to use what you have or survive using it.

*As a footnote to this: DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM WALMART AS THIS WAS A CHINESE PIECE OF SHIT. IT WAS USED A FEW TIMES AN THEN IT SOOTED UP AND BECAME A PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY. WALMART REFUSED IN MY SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES TO REFUND OR REPLACE.

This weedburner or propane pilot light works. It is just Walmart is against Americans. It gives you the corporate run around and then tells you there is no one over the supervisor you are complaining to. It is designed to wear people down to give up. I simply will never do business with Walmart again. They are not so big that God can not avenge me.

As a caveat on this in another follow up note, I purchased a farm store China thing, and the first one went POOF, so took it back and the replacement went poof too. My next step is to ask JYG for parts to build my own burner as China makes nothing but shit. Nothing to stake your life on.
