Cherry's Garden Glam

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

The above is one of my dinking around projects when I had a few hours last year. It involves my favorite things in finding junk that is serviceable and rejuvenating it.

I had seen this rotting wheel barrel a few months before and I thought it would be just the thing to sit on an open porch. So on a cold autumn day, TL joined me in we tore this thing down, got the frozen rusted front wheel loose, found some 2 by 2's for handles and went to work drilling holes and this is what appeared.

It is not meant for doing concrete work, as at best it was a kid's tool, or it as at best a thing to clutter up a porch and that is where it sat for almost a year, until TL decided that these discount flours, 24 cents with tax, would look good. So the water starved plants got planted, got a drink as you can see in sitting in water, were put on the eastern morning sun exposure and shade in the afternoon as these are begonias and they look like flowers and began blossoming again with just a little TL TLC.

It would be stupid to put dirt in this tub, as it would rot the metal. It would need drain holes for moisture so the plants would not root rot. It is best as it is, although I'm thinking trailing plants on the outside and a bouquet in the middle, but that costs money and am not paying huge sums for this kind of decorating as the nice part is, the wheel barrel cost nothing, the planters JYG threw in, and the flowers were 24 cents. That is beauty to me and I would cringe at what a garden center would charge for a cheap ass Chinese made piece of shit which would rot in a year.

This is just an idea for cheap gardening. Find some metal wheels, stick something on top and if you have a porch or a place to park it in shade or out, you have something which people will drive by and think that looks nice, even if it is junk.

I can not remember where I saw a neighbor here who had a bouquet of flowers by their mailbox, as it was pretty in a scorched earth of drought. It does not take much, and Marigolds are one hell of a blessed weed for taking punishment.

That is it for Cherry's Garden Glam.
