Summoned the religious Jews and asked them about this king and where he would be born. Now the Star of Bethlehem was not a one night event, but was an event which was in the Sign of Judah for sometime. When Herod was told that the place was Bethlehem of Judea, he summoned his guards with an order to kill every Jewish boy 2 years and younger.

So governments mass slaughtering children in Palestine is not a new thing. The Israelite cemeteries have been found with rows of dead infants, sacrificed to Molech the fire demon which was carried out and why our peoples were divorced from God.
It is a most vicious and disgusting thing that regimes carry out. In Jesus time God did stop the slaughter as He has not in Gaza, as the sins of a nation do fall upon the rulers and the people who engage in such heinous butchery.
I have no doubt that Herod the Great is in hell for all of his evil. I have no doubt that all of these leaders engaged in this, propping it up, remaining silent will answer before Christ for this mass murder. For it is the point, that Jesus was the target as a baby by a government to be murdered and numbers of children were murdered to try and end Jesus mission. Jesus knows evil and speaks of woe to those who keep children from Him.
There will be Justice one day, as there are numbers of Christians in Gaza mourning their dead children.
