Kosher Pork

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

I'm guessing the start of this is big ole fat sows that have had piglets and are sold to the slaughter as the source of the affordable boneless pork ribs TL and I have access to.

We love these ribs grilled as they are food for God in delicious, but the last time the weather was shit, so I told TL that we were going to season JYG's junk yard pan with these ribs and we did this with salt and pepper and some liquid smoke, (hickory flavor).

They were very good, but I noticed in the broth that there was way too much good looking attributes of it to throw out to the cats, so we saved it, about a half gallon.

This then became the foundation for our biscuits and gravy.

Simple recipe.

1/2 large onion

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 bag of large mixed vegetables

1 cereal bowl of water, mixed with corn starch for thickening.

I also found 10 pork chops for 10 bucks, browned them and added with the drippings.

For this we used canned biscuits which were very good. We also went to rice to change things up as this made a gallon of the stuff.

This is very high octane food with all the pork grease in it. It is delicious though.

The moral of this story is...........

We had 7 pork ribs  for like 10 bucks.

That was 3 meals.

To this we added 10 pork chops for 10 bucks.

That is 5 more meals for two people.

3 bucks for the bag of veggies and whatever 2 bucks for the biscuits and that is around 25 bucks for 8 meals or 16 individual servings. That is 1.56 per meal.

No one has to be put upon yet in not having food, or not enough money for food as this poor orphan girl by God's Grace makes fantastic meals that are not wood chips and horse shit.

When chicken was expensive, we switched to beef. As of December, for some reason, our grocery had piles of frozen chicken breasts which were now cheaper than beef. We got two packages, which will be rendered into long distance meals. Everything does not have to be  a cube of beef dunked 5000 times in soup to make an appearance. You can eat meat, but sort it out where French sauces fill in Southern cooking. Yeah groceries cost shit now by design, but look for what you can find and then find a way to stretch the meals.

Hell back in the day, oysters, sardines, eggs, tuna, spam, were what poor people survived on. Now that shit is more expensive than real food, so poor people from 1960 would go broke today eating what they did back then.

Drives me up the wall these people with prepared foods at 10 bucks a package and more. No one can survive on Pizza Hut costs. I can't eat those chems in prepared foods as they make me ill, so I do have to cook things and find ways to get by, until we cycle to what is what we are preparing for in wild game and our own food on the hoof. Not everyone can do that, so this is your lesson.
