We are now in the motions of what was taking place in the 1980's movie, The Day After. It was all in the media leading to the first use of nuclear weapons, but the public was not paying attention and thought no one would push this to the edge.
Russia will not back down. Thee only option Americans have is President elect Donald Trump. He has stated his response for peace and ridding America of the croc state, but he honestly needs to make more statements of diplomacy and detente. Something like this.
America under President John Kennedy faced the Cuban Missile Crisis in which Russia responded to former President Eisenhower placing nuclear missiles in Turkey. While most listening to this message were not alive then, the lessons then are being violated. We had a world where America and the Soviet Union were not backing down, and it took the armed forces of the two nations to not begin a nuclear exchange in which all nations would die. It was then that the two leaders for America and Russia backed away from this genocide of nuclear holocaust.
The policy of the Trump Administration is to end the war in Ukraine and to bring peace, with those same relations with Russia and her people. The United States will not continue a war begun now in nations not backing down. America will back away as a sign of good faith in Russia and will expect the same. There will not be a world war, a European war, a nuclear exchange over what is the commerce of war called Ukraine.
