The Lame Cherry is going to proceed with a bit of technical information here, so my children and brats can understand how an American F 16 in Ukraine, was shot down by Russian air defense systems.
Apparently this Kiev pilot has been pricking around on the Russian border or in the Ukraine Sumy region for a few days, flying "cover" for the retreating Ukrainians who had invaded Russia Kursk.
What took place is this. The Ukrainian pilots, and I have no idea what nationality this flap was, have to fly on the deck, less then 100 meters so the Russian SAMS will not paint them. The Russians countered with flying and Su35 fighter no the boarder with it's own radar, as the S 400 SAM systems can not really "see" objects low on the ground or hidden by terrain. The S 400 is a combined over the horizon radar system.
In this case, the F 16 was flying low and using the different land elevation structures to hide in and blind the S 400. The Russian countermeasure was to fly this Su 35 "high" in the sky, so it was looking down and could paint the topography and this 16. Once it locked on, it's radar coordinated with the existing radars of the S 400 and began tracking this 16. The S 400 crew then used the airborne radar to guide the missile launch and the result is one dead 16 and one Kiev hero.
This is why the F 16 is a dinosaur against modern phased array or combined radars. The Russians have proven "up close" in Syria to be able to paint F 35 stealth aircraft as they know the signature on the S 400 radars. This is why the Tel Aviv Jews had to call off their strikes on Iran, as the Americans shut down the F 35's because Iran with Russian information, had either shot one or several down with their Russian based systems.
The F 35 is a suicide nuclear bomber. The pilot is not designed to return home. It is supposed to hug the ground and get into Russia, but not get out. The 35 can be painted by Russian radars as much as the 16 was shown vulnerable. This is why they hypersonic missile is the answer for this type of warfare, but again, hypersonics fly at the speed of sound, but American lasers strike at the speed of light, being a countermeasure to a hypersonic.
The main question at present is, did the Russians obtain the wreckage of the F 16, meaning did they get their hands on the radar systems, which were re adjusted by American technicians to deal with Russian radars. Zellinskyy would sell his wife's cunt hairs if there was money in it, so one wonders what parts of the F 16' and other systems are in Russian hands already, for them to have painted this F 16 this effectively. Remember when Kiev fled for it's life out of Kursk, the Ukrainians abandoned a pile of high tech which had been provided them.
The Russians have overcome the F 16's radar ability to spoof Russian systems. That is the story in this.
