Nothing Really Matters

She looks outside
The once child bride
A window to the past
It will be her last
So that nothing really matters

Just like the winter shroud snow
In the sun's amber glow
Turns it all to rivers that flow
It is all in the warmth to know
So that only the spring matters

She is seventeen now
In her three score and ten
It happened just then
It never matters just how
So that nothing ever matters

And the river flows
In the tears of life
In the joys that she knows
In the sorrow and strife
So that it never really matters

Still an ageless queen
Of the princess dream
Wearing now a crown of white
Now faded from sight
So that nothing now matters

She sees the light
As her eyes grow dim
It is all like yesterday
All because of Him
So that He only matters

She looks inside
With nothing to hide
The past has gone away
And she is here to stay
So nothing else matters
