“It hasn’t been called for yet. Nobody’s done it,” the presumptive Republican nominee said.
“This is just a suggestion until we find out what’s going on.”
From the above Blount and Belling, being fed Cruz media talking points immediately, deliberately misconstrued the above that Mr. Trump had made his original point "just a suggestion".

Mr. Trump has stated plainly from the start that there must be a Muslim ban UNTIL WE FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.
Mr. Trump is correct in no one in the Republican House or Senate has done a thing on it nor has the Obama regime, so no one has done it. SO IT IS JUST HIS SUGGESTION in how to protect America until we find out what is going on in who is invading America, because Donald Trump can do nothing at this point but advocate as he has absolutely no governmental power.
